Dyson DC05 problem with filters.

\015 My dyson DC05 has good suction but the dirt is not going into the clear collection unit, it is gathering around the filter in the top of the machine. I have cleaned the filter and replaced it when dry. still no luck...HELP PLEASE!! Thanks, Kate.\015

Answers :

First, and for sure, the problem is in the collection unit (CU), not the filter.  Is it possible that something is missing from the CU?  When you remove the CU to empty it, and you lift off the top, a conical yellow part remains attached to the inside of the lid; another yellow part remains in the bottom of the CU, with a big black rubber seal on top.
I think the problem you describe will occur if that black rubber seal is missing, displaced or damaged (perhaps it dropped out with the dirt and you didn't notice).  A healthy seal between those two yellow parts inside the CU is essential.
Please rate my response if this helps.  If it doesn't help, also let me know and I'll think again.
