Having problems with your Vacuums ?

I noticed the Roomba's brushes were not sweeping, or turning so they could sweep. There was a new sound coming from the machine, the sound of grinding nylon! Upon inspection, I determined the problem to be a heat melted gear support hole. The hole was no longer round but oblong. You could see a ridge of plastic around this hole. So melting I believe was the culprit. The gear that uses that hole was then able to tilt to one side, thereby allowing the gear to disengage from the drive train. I

Removed all strings and replaced as best I could and it was hard to get the brush back in and the belt around it. I dont have my manual but it fits so it should be correct....? Right? No, not true, because when I turn it on and try to and vacuum (by lower canister with foot release) it makes that terrible ratching sound). Please help

Stopped running My mother's Oreck vacuum sound as if there was something bogging the rotating brush down. I pulled the bottom cover off and found nothing wrapped around or restricting the brush. I tried to finish vacuuming with the problem then I turned it off to move a chair and turned it back on it would do nothing. I have an Electrolux LITE upright carpet cleaner - about 15 years old. Suddenly last night when using it, from the normal motor (whooshing) sound, the motor suddenly went very slow and with a slight grinding sound. The brushes are now just turning round very slowly and areobviously not picking up anything. Has the motor gone or is this repairable, or should I just get a new cleaner? I have tried to open the machine from the bottom to see if anything is obviously wrong, but it looks complicated a

My Dyson DC25 animal is having issues. I believe everything is working correctly except I have realized that the mechanism which switches the hose/valve between the wand and the vacuum head isn't working properly. The two gear pieces that move the hose placement aren't close enough together, so they don't work together. It looks like there is a washer that I could potentially remove on the clear gear piece which would allow it to sit closer to the assembly. Would that work? Currently I am

** suction The best way to describe it is that when I was vacuuming I could see dust clouds at the front of the vacuum where the light is swirling around in the air. It was like it was blowing dust around instead of picking it up. I checked the tubing and found that it was clogged with some paper and hair ***** etc.... So I cleaned it out and tried it again and it still was not picking up properly. I had my husband take all the tubing apart to check for other clogging and there was none. When I

Low suction I have a Hoover central vacuum system. I've reset the fuse box, checked the fuses, all of the lines are clear and there are no holes for escaped air to travel out. The filter has been cleaned as well. The vac works well with high suction when hooked directly to the unit, however when using any of the indoor connections there is extremely low suction. The machine still turns on so I do not believe it is an electronic issue. I have troubleshooted the issue as best I could and would

Hoover Wind Tunnel 7500 Brush not Turning. I have replaced the Brush and the belt. The problem does not seem to be either to me. I believe might be a missing part. The place were the belt hooks on is a metal pole which never seems to grip the belt well. In fact it seems loose most of the time and slips on the brush, causing the belt to eventually burn up. Could there be a missing plastic or rubber piece meant to hold the belt taught  on the metal pole?

When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. We inherited an ancient canister Electrolux. There's plenty of suction with the hose out, but almost none when the hose is in. The hose is clear, and I can see no holes. What could the trouble be?

Shampoo-er This seems to be a common problem, the shampooer is putting out alot of water and hardly any suds. I read through the posts about the little filter that sometimes gets out of place and I think I found it in the box - is it about 1" diameter hard plastic ring around very fine mesh? If so where exactly does it go? Some posts say in the hose, and others say in the opening of the tank. Or does it go in the place where the hose attaches to the tray? I also found a round sponge in the box o

Could very well be the belt.\015\012When cleaning the brush it is a good idea to add some WD40 at the ends where the plastic pieces are that hold the brush in the vacuum.
