I also have a Hoover upright and I need to replace the electrical cord. I have dimantled the back, where the tools are stored, and the hose. I still cannot find the screws or whatever, to get to the area behind the cord, so I can replace it. I think I will have to take off the bottom too. Has anyone out there tried to do this? It seems crazy. This machine works great so I hope I can also put it back together. Thanks for the help.

Since I do not know your specific model I can only supply you with general instructions. Be aware that most of the time you only need to gain access to the on/off switch to replace the power cord. Also Make sure that you are replacing the existing co ... Vacuums

My Kirby shampooer - G4 - hardly used any water from the tank and no suds at all. Pet hair did blow out of the small slotted holes in the tray as I moved the shampooer back and forth, but the carpet was basically dry. I did vacuum before shampooing, so the brush part seemed to work great during shampooing, but no water! The small screen was stuck in the crook of the hose that attached to the tank so I did get that out and put it on the small hole on the tank, but it didn't make any difference. I

I have a Hoover Slider, Model #S2105, Serial #050500084989, and I need instructions on putting it back together; with parts and assembly of parts. I took it apart because it was making a noise, and I believe one of the belts had come off. However, when I took the screws out of the bottom to check the belts, the whole thing fell apart. Now I can't get back together properly. It will not come on, and I believe it is because the switch that makes it come on when you lower the handle is not posi

Can't reassemble!!! Long story as short as possible- I removed the hood from my Bissell 1699 and can't seem to get it back on correctly. The "Smart Mix" knob and it's parts seems to be the problem. How does this line-up, or what is the best way to put it all back together? Thanks, Josh

I cleaned out my brush in the bottom front, cleaned out the small tubing going into the canister, and the canister itself. I also changed the filter.I snapped everything back into place, but Since then, it doesn't seem to have any suction and there seems to be a space between the canister and the bottom of the vacumm where the canister sits. At that area, you can feel air coming out when trying to vacumm and it just doesn't pick up, it seems to be just blowing stuff around.

Wont re-assemble I took the bottom plate off to clean out the rotary bush and can not get the plate back on! I think it is the position of the roller but no matter which way I place it when i turn it , it flicks back into the place that means i cant put the plate back on!

Assuming you did not remove the brush roller to clean it and consequently did not reseat it, I am guessing that the bottom plate is not reinstalling as it should. My 4 yr old Nilfisk vacuum cleaner has been working fine up until now. Good day, I took off the cover on a proheat upright, to install the suction diverter flap. Guy at the shop told me I had to do this but I don't think it was really necessary. Anyway, I am having a real job getting the cover back on. The shampoo mix piston seems to be causing the problem seating the two halves correctly. I see no obvious "right: way to put the piston back in. can anybody help me. Thanks Richard

Windtunnel belt I have a new Hoover Windtunnel canister. The belt keeps coming off. It happened a couple weeks ago (several times after putting the belt back on) so I assumed I might need a new belt as it might have dried out at the store. Hi, I have a Dirt Devil Model # M08100REDC. I desperately need to change the bag, but I don't see an obvious way to do it. I'm afraid to try pulling on the cloth tab thingy that's just below the handle, between the rubber ring that holds the bag on the vac, because it seems like stuff will fly everywhere from the force required to remove it, and I might not be able to get it back on there. Should I just pull on that cloth tab until the bag comes off? Thanks, Roberta

You can pull on the tab to remove the bag, but probably a better way is to gently pull on the rubber ring that attaches the bag to the back of the vacuum body. If you don't yank and ****, it should come off without spilling the dirt. There may also b ... Dirt Devil Classic M08100 Bagged Handheld Vacuum

Miele vacuum Sometimes when I hit the auto roll up cord button or even move the cord, the power vacuum goes off. I move the cord again and it comes back on. I took it apart and looked at the connection from the cord to the auto roller. These are the electrical slip on type connections and are still in good shape. There are no bends in the cord. I air dusted everthing inside, put it together (with no extra parts!). Good news..it powered up so I did not break it, but it still has the same problem.

You will need to pour two measures of water using the measuring cup or 12 oz of water. The reason why water comes out of the bottom is because the floor cloth is too wet or you had too much water in the tank\015\012\015\012Cl ... Eureka Deluxe Enviro Steamer Vacuum

Little green machine pro heat pet the collection tank wasn't collection and dirty water was coming out of the bottom. i took it apart, cleaned it up and put a new "duckbill" gasket in. then it quit spraying, but i think i got that working again. now after i spray and get a good foam on the carpet, i switch to suction and it seems very weak. i can see the water moving (trickling) from the head into the hose but it is not reaching the collection tank -- actually, i am not sure where its goin

My electrolux oxygen canister cuts on and off. I have to open and close the vacuum, or take the base of the hose off and then re-insert. I have to do all these things before it will start up again. I sometimes shake the hose around, then it will come back on. If I try to dust with the dust brush (like a lamp shade or shelf) and the suction pulls against the object, the vacuum goes off for awhile. Sometimes I'll have to reset the vacuum by unplugging the electric cord. I never get to finis
