Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Bissell 5770 Healthy Home vacuum fell over and now will not power on. Closest service center is 55 miles away. I'm very hands and can fix most things, but never took apart a vacuum yet. Can I do this?

Same thing happened to me. The handle connects to the unit and actually plugs in. If you are lifting or carrying it by the handle then you can unplug the unit from itself. Reconnect it and you should be good to go.
There are two cord wraps on the back of the handle, and in between that are two screw holes, you only need to take one screw out, its the one on top of the other screw hole. Completely remove the screw using a philips head screw driver then slide the handle backwards if your behind the machine. Then after taking it completely off, slide the handle back in and make sure its flush all the way up in front that if you look at the front of machine, the upper handle is even to the lower body, then put screw back on tight, that should fix the power problem.

Hoover F5809 Hello, I seen a few of your post and was hoping you could help me. I just became a member today. My sister gave me her old Hoover Steam Vac-Model F5809. This thing is so dirty and clogged because my sister has pets. So far I've gotten it all taken apart to clean it. I'm not a newbie and taking apart and fixing things. I have fixed things like microwaves, washers, dryers, dishwashers (still learning about TV's-very hard, hehe). Anyway, I got what I believe to be the motor cover off.

That cover is the called the fan cover and is usually pressed on. Tapping on the edge with a flat blade, you may be able to get it off and hope you don't bend it up, you will to put it back on tight enough so it will stay in place. Another thing to ... Vacuums

The bottom bar that encases the brush is flush to the floor when using the vacuum. This causes the suction to "stick" the vacuum to the floor (lamenate) and also as there is no ground clearance debris is just pushed around. We have to nearly stand the thing upright to get the ground clearance to be enough for things to start being sucked up. I have taken apart, re-assembled etc and nothing is working.

I'm having the same problem.  The bottom plate is not level with the floor unless the vacuum is nearly in the upright position.  Its like there should be a spring pushing the bottom plate towards the floor.  Anyone know how to fix this ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Clogged vacuum Rather stupidly, my boyfriend 1) were vacuuming without a bag and 2) vacuumed up a big piece of cotton from a sofa cushion. And now it's making a horrible noise and I see it vibrating where the tube connects to the machine. When you look inside there's a white thing sticking out but it looks like it's part of the vacuum. If it's a clog, how do you fix it? I tried unscrewing the tray the bag sits in but it won't budge.

You can start by taking off the bottom plate or top cover, which ever comes off, that is where the inlet starts going in and hopefully the clog is there. Could be in the hose also. The vacuum does not **** in dirt. It is blowing air instead. Yet when I disconnect the vacuum from the cannister, the suction seems very strong. I took it to a vacuum repairman, and he said that Kenmore sucks and I might as well get rid of it. (He wanted to sell me another one) It is 10 years old, but if I can fix it I would like to try.

Every time I try to vacuum my apartment with my Dirt Devil Featherlite bagless vacuum, it shuts off before I have finished one or two rooms. I then have to wait 30 minutes before continuing. I had the vacuum for 2 months before exchanging it and it is doing the same thing with my new one. It seems to happen after the first time I empty the cannister. Any ideas?

Your motor in the vacum is getting hot.Thats why it shuts off.Its fitted with a shut off switch to stop you doing any damage to it.1 The reason for getting to hot is that you are filling the cannister to full.Try emptying it half.good luck. ... Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum M085845Vacuum

I just bought a westinghouse unplugged vacuum cleaner.( It is new) The design is awesome, and when it works it works great . But it has very short battery life. 1 battery lasts only about 5 minutes, and the other is even less. I did all the instructions told me as far as conditioning and charge yet I still do not get a very solid amount of vacuuming time. Is there any thing I can do?

Usually a short battery life means bad battries that aren't holding its charge. Being new I would think it would have a year's warranty on it. Find out who is the closest warranty shop and have them fix it. ... Vacuums

I bought the Eureka 4703D model vacuum and my very first time powering it on, it was extremely loud - abnormally loud, and I don't know if it is loud like that because I possibly put it together wrong, or there is something wrong with it or it was previously damaged and I would like to know if this is something I can fix myself or do I have to take it back apart and return it to Walmart where I purchased it from. When it makes the loud noise, it does vacuum fine but the noise is just unbearable

I have an Electrolux Oxygen 3 vacuum I purchased rebuilt. After 1 month the power stopped working. I took it into Electrolux Authorized repair dealer, which was a horrible experience. When we received it back it was clearly not as powerful as before. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem may be? I would rather fix it myself than take it back to them. The next repair center is too far away. I am pretty good with fixing things, just needs some guidance. I think the repair center rep

No suction I've only had my vacuum for a couple of months and it seem I have a similar problem but there is no clear blockage. It seems like I don't have adequate suction that reaches the accessory hoses nor the main one. I'm not sure where to start. I've taken the darn thing apart but I can't see any obvious malfunction. Any suggestions?

If you have low suction at the end of the hose, then you either have a clog in the hose or a clogged filter. Take the hose off and drop something in it to see if it comes out the other end.
