I was vacuuming and noticed that the bag needed changing. the red light with the ! inside the triangle also came on. When the bag was changed, the vacuum would not restart. The red light came on. Tried the reset button but nothing happened. Tried unplugging and re-plugging in and nothing happened. Replaced all the filters and still it wouldh't start. So I brought it downstairs and tried one more time to get it to start. it worked! Is there something wrong with the vacuum cleaner? Was it overheat

The brush is not moving on the vaccume. I'm pretty sure that the belt is busted. I cannot see how to get the shroud off, so that I can get to the roller and belt. It all looks and feels like one piece, even when I start removing screws. It is a bag-less vac. The model number is - v1310rs. Thank you.

The belt burnt out and it seems as though the red arrown does not release the belt. Like it is backwards from the green arrow. It had a burning smell and the belt broke. Then the second belt started to burn out when the brush roller wasn't spinning. Not sure what might be wrong. Green light will not come on either.

I have vax 1800 pet vacuum. It is picking up fine but very noisy. I have replaced the belt in the past and the noise started then. On looking at it closely today I noticed brushbar was getting worn where it slots in at the side so I suspect it wasn't fitted in properly after replacing the belt. Now in properly but still making terrible noise. There is a bit of a rubbing noise when brushbar moved round. Do you think the brushbar needs replaced? My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. The noise seems to come from the motor housing. I have tried to wiggle the main shaft at the front (bearings?) and it seems tight. Can't seem to get the other housings apart. Any ideas? Thanks, John

It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum

Vacuum either stops for no reason and can't be restarted without unplugging and waiting 1/2 hour to restart, or it simply will not turn on at all. The red light comes on when the "On" button is pressed. I took it back today for the 4th time in a month to where it was purchased. They called later and said it was running fine and they could not detect a problem. The last three times they have (1) replaced the roller brush, (2) "unclogged" the vacuum, and (3) "adjusted" the belt.
