Motor makes loud growling noise, no suction on model 270 i Miele canister style vacuum

Answers :

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. Unfortunately that normally means the motor has shot its bearings and/or its carbon brushes. I think it is time to purchase a new one. On the bright side there are some rreally great vacuums out there! If you want any help choosing a new machine send me a message. Happy Vacuuming :)
Growling sound on a canister is normally caused by a suction fan wobbling loose due to damage or a bad bearing. Loss of suction would occur if the fan is loose or damaged. If the bearing is bad but the fan intact you will still lose suction as the motor will not run properly out of balance. Take it to a Miele service center for parts

Kenmore upright vac model 33922 - good suction but developed loud whining noise after accidentally vacuuming room without bag. Added bag and changed both filters. Still makes noise. How can I stop noise?

The bag is the first stage in your filtration. Most times what you did will draw fine dust right through the filters and into the motor itself, affecting the bearings and clogging the motor fans, throwing them off balance. The fact that there i ... Kenmore 33922 Direct Drive Bagged Upright Vacuum

I had the vacuum cleaner question about the canister and the wand/powerhead... the Kenmore Progressive Vacuum canister model 116.25812 and the canister not powering off without unplugging the vacuum. The solution I received that they both run on their own switch so it is normal makes sense. However, is there a power switch on the canister anywhere? The only way for the canister to be turned off is by unplugging it. Any ideas? One would think there would be a switch. I am new to fixya and hope

I bought the Eureka 4703D model vacuum and my very first time powering it on, it was extremely loud - abnormally loud, and I don't know if it is loud like that because I possibly put it together wrong, or there is something wrong with it or it was previously damaged and I would like to know if this is something I can fix myself or do I have to take it back apart and return it to Walmart where I purchased it from. Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction. Turned it back on and was working fine. About a minute later the vacuum was making an odd noise. Every 2 seconds or so it would "heave" (lack of a better word) then go away, then come back and so on. Turned the vacuum off and checked for blockage, none that could be seen or felt, and now the vacuum won't turn. Any suggestio
