Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Hello - I have a Model 90 and it does NOT have any suction at all. It turns on and runs but with little suction

Answers :

Its the filter problem it needs cleaning.\015\012First unplug the unit. Under the dirt collection cup, there should be a little "drawer" that houses a sponge filter. Pull that little drawer all the way out. Might as well wash the filter with hot water while you're at it. Allow to dry completely before replacing.

Lay the sweeper on it's back, get a flashlight and look in the back of the area the little "drawer" came out of. Way back! I'm betting there is something stuck back there and that will block the air flow. Things mostly found in that area are from cellophane wrapper pieces, tissues, plastic bread tags and wire twist ties.
And if the blockage is a really big one, you might have to clean this out a couple times before you get it all. Clear what you can get, replace the drawer, turn it on and see how the machine works. If it's still not working, repeat the process and you'll probably find more debris back there. Just keep clearing that area and sooner or later, you'll get it all and the unit should be back to operating properly.
\015\012if still the same problem the filter needs replacement.\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012This will help. Thanks please keep\015\012updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction. Turned it back on and was working fine. About a minute later the vacuum was making an odd noise. Every 2 seconds or so it would "heave" (lack of a better word) then go away, then come back and so on. Turned the vacuum off and checked for blockage, none that could be seen or felt, and now the vacuum won't turn. Any suggestio

In my (almost new) Dyson DC31 Animal the rolling brush tends to stop like the bearing was kind of difficult to turn. I opened the side carter and removed the little belt. Without the belt the engine runs regularly. I cleaned the little knots of hairs trapped in the bearing but still the brush runs for a while then stops, tries for a bit then stops again. I even tryed putting a bit of synthetic lubricant with apparently no result. Could it be a defective bearing? Thanks for your help.

No suction Hello - any help with this would be much appreciated! I just changed the bag and filters. The machine runs, seems normal, but there is no suction. There is no blockage of the hose, as indicated by the fact that that little viewer window above where the hose connects to the unit is not showing the red portion that it shows when there is something blocking the hose (god, this is hard to describe!). If I disconnect the hose and put my hand over the hole, I feel some suction. But

Well, it actually sounds like there is a blockage. Try removing your hose and dropping something through it, like a quqrter. If it comes through, no clog. If it is clogged, I believe that machine has a blower on the upper part of the cleaner (mayb ... Miele S514 Solaris Electro Plus Vacuum

There is one way to verify if it is the switch. It's kind of dangerous though, but not too bad.You need an extra piece of wire, fairly thick.I would use 4 guage myself.Hold it with pliers, just in case it gets hot.Turn the switch on and hold the wire to ... Rainbow Vacuums

Hi. I have a Kirby from back in the early 90s (model G3D). Never had major issues with it. Can't remember the last time I had maintenance/tune up done. It's just sounding different when I run it the last few times...almost like it's louder and kind of echo-ey. Still suctioning well, but something's not right and I don't want to run it until I know if anything's up. Any suggestions? I'd like to try and figure this one out on my own with your help. Thanks in advance for your help. Marci

I have a windtunnel 2 vacuum. It sucked up a cord that wrapped around the beater bar. Now the bar won't turn. There was no smoke or sign of something burning. The motor still runs and there is suction but no turning. We have it apart but nothing is obvious. What should I check?
