Having problems with your Vacuums ?

When I plug in my vaccum the power light turns on, but i get no power to the machine??? I changed bags and filters and still nothing??? Can you help?

That light wire is attached to part of the wiring that is just a piece attached to the main wire coming from the switch. Your bags and filters have nothing to do with powering the machine. You may have a bad switch or there may be a ground wire off the motor. I had that happen to a very large Dirt Devil and I had to take the entire machine apart to get to the motor. If you have to do that, take your time, lay everything out in the order you remove it as you take it off, make drawings of things as you go, and put it back together in reverse. If it's a switch you will have to go to a parts store to see if they either have it or they may be able to order it. But, here's the deal these days. Everything has been for some time, "throw away". That means if something goes wrong you chunk it and go buy another one. I grew up with family that didn't have the money to just go buy things like that. We either took it to what used to be known as "repair shops". Those were places where people knew how to repair things and then you went and picked them up and paid the people for their work. I'm making a joke kinda, but to make my point. The way the economy is and it may get alot worse before it gets worse yet again, Americans who grew up just throwing things away when they broke, will have to learn to do the unspeakable....FIX it! Hopefully America will by need bring back "repair shops" where you will take something you don't know how to fix and they will do it for you. Those kinds of places employed thousands of people and gave people careers and businesses with good incomes. Don't throw it away, repair it. And there is a difference between "fixing" something and "repairing" something. Fixing means just getting something running for awhile, but it usually means a temporary thing. A repair means the thing is brought back to the way it was when it left the factory. It may not be as shinny, but it will last as long if not longer when "repaired".

My electrolux oxygen cannister has the "bag change" light on when there is a new bag. The light stays on when the suction power is high (to pick up small particles) and it won't pick up, but the ight goes off when the suction power is low (to pick up big objects). I changed the hepa filter, cleaned the motor filter and changed bags, but all that didn't help.

I was just using my Bosch 1450W bagged vacuum and all of a sudden, the motor just shut down. No warning, no problems. The light still turns on, but the motor is unresponsive. There is a clean bag and filter, and nothing caught in the front roller. The motor sounded fine - no shaking, or weird frequency variations. There were no weird smells, just a little bit of heat, but nothing beyond normal. I've had this thing for several years, and never had a bit of trouble with it. Any suggestions

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?
