Having problems with your Vacuums ?

I have an old Hoover vacuum model # U5035-930. The belt broke and I tried replacing the belt myself. I couldn't stretch the belt to attach it to the motor pully. It was belt # 38525-027 M6. Which I got from the previous owner. I took it to a vacuum repair place and he replaced it with belt # 38528-027 J4. I cannot find this belt anywhere.

I have a kirby sentria. vacuumed up my son's headphones and immediately shut if off. took brush off, unwound headphones, put it back together. when i turned it back on, the belt snapped. so i went to vacuum place, got new belt, but when i put it on, with the green arrows lined up, it doesn't have much suction. with the red arrows lined up, it just smells like its burning and i don't want to break another belt! HELP!!

Take the front off the vacuum and check inside both the front portion and the canister for additonal clogs. Sometimes something will get caught in the impellor, causing the motor to overheat. Since there's little suction and the smell, I'd guess th ... Kirby Generation 3 Bagged Upright Vacuum

The Panasonic MC-V7515 has two belts. The local vacuum repair guy says he only has a part number for the drive belt, which is UB-9. How do I find a replacement for the other belt, the one which directly drives the beater bars? By the way, this vacuum has great suction, but otherwise is far inferior to my previous Panasonic vacuums. The cheaper models aren't a good buy--stick with the more expensive models.

I heard that a class action lawsuit against Oreck Vacuum is being started because of all the problems customers are having with their vacuums. Does anyone know about this? My Oreck is only a couple of years old and keeps burning up belts. I took it in after only one week of usage when I started to notice white smoke coming out of it and the smell of burning rubber. I feel like I got the old run-around, when the service tech told me he couldn't find anything wrong (but replaced the burned up belt

Hoover U5344-950 My Hoover vacuum is a nightmare! I have had nothing but problems with it since day 1. The powerhead stops working if you try to lower the handle to vacuum. When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. My Vacuum DC-17 has just quit sucking. It has been making quite a racket since I had the belt changed at a repair shop several months ago. I was told that the belt was a new design and figured that was why it was making so much noise. it seemed to work fine, was picking up dirt and all, but today, when I started vacumming, I noticed it was not sucking air either with the belt engaged or not.
