The tension knob came off of the front of my sewing machine while I was sewing. I cannot figure out how to put it back on. I have the metal rod that fits into the back of the tension knob, but cannot figure out how to put it back into place. Keeps falling off

It sounds like your machine is the kind that has a knob with a 'set screw', a teeny tiny screw that tightens and holds the thing in place on the rod. Look for a small hole, probably on the bottom and look for a very small screw near the machine. ... Vacuums

I have a Singer Model #4562 sewing machine. I am having trouble adjusting the tension. Everytime I try and turn the knob to adjust the bobbin just gets looser. Right now it just snags and gets caught underneath the material and bunches up into a big ball. There is a lot of thread inside the bobbin case that came out of the bobbin and has to be cut out to free the material. How do I fix this mess. I am a novice at this. I have not sewn in several years and would like to sew a few quilts

Singer 327 lower bobbin thread is wild and loopy after I sew...top stitch fine. Just changed to a large thread spool with the heavy remote base and crook to carry thread to machine and wonder if this changed tension (set at 4 and correctly threaded)? It had been working fine in zigzag but I also went back to reg foot and set stitch width at 0, center needle set. Thanks for your input and help. Deanna

Please please help me! I recently bought an Empisal Celebrity 550 Sewing machine, I've used it maybe 4 times up to now. Yesterday I was sewing with it and everything was working perfectly, today, when I got home, I plugged in the sewing machine and started sewing, just to see that the bottom stitch is completely loose. It's making this loose loops instead of stitches? I didn't change a knob or anything from working with it yesterday to today, so I don't understand how it all of a sudden doesn

I bought an old Juki Baby Lock 418 at a garage sale. It will sew for 3 or 4 inches and then seems to be off timing and locks up. I have no instruction manual. Is there a manual available for this old machine? I would prefer a downloadable manual because I already have money invested in the machine which doesn't seem to work. It was suppose to have been gone over at a repair shop before I purchased it and was told that it worked. .

I just had this machine delivered yesterday (Janome Magnolia 7330). When I sew a straight seam (all I've tried so far) I get loops at the underside of the fabric. I adjusted the upper thread tension, but that did not help. In fact the loops got larger as I increased the tension. My thought is that I don't have the machine threaded correctly. Thanks!

The last time I sewed with my Necchi the tension was fine. Today when I threaded my needle, the thread felt tight in the upper tension dial. I tried re-threading the machine several times, but it didn't help. Now the parts of the tension dial are all loose and wobbbly and I have no upper tension. Doesn't matter what the dial is set on. The tension dial appears to be broken, but I don't know how that could have happend since I store it in a case.
