Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Sharp R-1480. Microwave would not start - jarred door, and it heated and worked. Replaced bottom of the 3 inter-lock door switches. Turns back on - all seems normal. No heat (it does overall sound louder). Thanks, Mark [email protected]

Hi Mark,

It sounds like you have a magnetron problem now or at very least a rectifier that is shorted.

The elevated sound level comes from one of those two components. But since you had a door switch problem I would lean toward the problem being internal to the magnetron. It is common for them to over draw on the circuit going through the door switch before they fail completely.

To test the high voltage components you need a good ohm meter, the magnetron should read under 1 ohm from terminal to terminal and infinite ohms from either terminal to ground. The rectifier or diode should read 0 or low ohms in one direction and high or infinite in the other. BE SURE THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE SERVICING!

My new H2O Mop Ultra (Danoz) seems to heat up ok then when the light switches to green and I start using it, the orange light comes back on as well as the green. Produces steam to start with but then it starts to spit water too and everything ends up wet. Any ideas on whats wrong or should I just send it back?

I have a cannister (Animal something...) Today, it didn't sound right - like a blockage. I took out the filter - seemed OK; I looked for a blockage - found none. I continued to vacuum, but it wasn't picking up. Then, I stopped again, and I found a blockage (cat toy mouse) right at the end of the hose (attachment end.) I cleared, and I turned back on - nothing. Completely dead. It is one year old, just about exactly. Desperate, Sharon Tracy

When I was using my Bissell ProHeat 7901, I smelled something hot (almost burnt) and turned off the vaccum. When I turned it back on, everything seemed to be working, but the vaccum part was not making the same sound. The bristles are still turning, but it isn't picking up as much and is leaving quite a bit of lint on the carpet. Could the belts be worn? How do I tell? Thanks!

I have a Liftmaster garage door opener and the garage door faces south. Normally the opener works great except at certain times on a sunny day.The sunlight is not directly hitting one of the sensors but the door will comedown as far as half way and then it will go back up and the lights will flash. I cleaned out my brush in the bottom front, cleaned out the small tubing going into the canister, and the canister itself. I also changed the filter.I snapped everything back into place, but Since then, it doesn't seem to have any suction and there seems to be a space between the canister and the bottom of the vacumm where the canister sits. I have a Napoleon Pellet stove insert Model NPI40. When the fire burn rate is extremely low it seems to operate normally. However, when I turn the heat up even a little I eventually get a high pitched noise that seems to be coming from the convection blower. Changing the speed of the blower has no effect on the noise level. I cleaned the blower but did not remove it. There was very little dust on it. Cleaning had no effect on the volum or pitch of the noise.

When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.
