Having problems with your Vacuums ?

I have a window fan with two fans in it & I cannot get the cover or back off so I can clean it. I* have taken all the screws out that I can get to , but there are two clamps that I can't get off, I'm not sure why the clamps are there but they are on the side with the accordian extention. Please tell me how to get it apart - after 2 years it is really filthy!! Thank you, Janet

Answers :

Remove all the screws, pry clips off that hold on the extensions, than fan will pull apart. The clips must be pried off. They will not break. Then remove screws holding in the fans and remove them as well. Fairly simple process.
Hi Janet,
\015\012I feel you pain and I tried to do the same thing once...now I have taken many things apart and these things frustrated me to no end....
\015\012What I eneded up doing was to very carefully spray everything down with a soapy water solution from a spray bottle....letting it soak a bit and then taking the sprayer from the sink and rinsing eveerything off being careful not to get the water in the fan motors...
\015\012While this give not give me quite as good a cleaning job as I would have liked it did help out alot...and seems to be the best I could do without breaking things....
\015\012Seems as though they really don't expect them to last long enough as to have to clean them...:-)

This isn't really a problem that can be fixed here on Fixya rather than advise you as a buyer. You'd have to contact the people/company you have purchased the filters from and take it up with them regarding the postage. Hope you get a decent reply. ... Euro-Pro Vacuums

Your problem is probably is you don't have a proper seal in your chasis. A vacuum has to be sealed tight or the air will leak out and the seal broken. Check around the whole body after the bag is in and check for any airflow noise. I could help more ... Vacuums

Hi There I have got a Kirby 2 HG vaccum cleaner which is around 20 years old now. It was going really well until last week when one of the capacitors which are connected to the brushes blew up. There is two capacitors one for each brush. One of them completely blew to bits and the other one is still intact. My question is are they the same size and where do I get a new one from. I know it is an old machine, but I would like to fix it and get it going again. Any tips???
