Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. It seems

Answers :

Not sure what you mean when you refer to a "microchip" but maybe it is a sensor that works with the belt.\015\012Anyway, if you Google the make and model number of your vacuum you can probably get an exploded view or owners manual that might indicate where the part goes that you are referring to.\015\012If you have a problem finding it, send a message back and I will assist you.

I am replacing drive belt on Eureka 4870 upright. Before installing I removed bottomplate and was cleaning out accumulated lint, hair and grit. Found a pair of identical (reciprocal) felt gaskets sucurely inserted above and below the roller brush, and one small loose piece of felt approximately 1/3 inch wide by 1 inch long that came out as I was pulling out debris. It has a slight crease across the middle as though I was not resting on an entire flat surface, but I find no other clues as to wher

Hoover Mach 6 U5198-900 vacuum roller brush won't turn. I had opened the bottom to clean hair off the roller. the belts are not broken. When I closed it and turned it on, now the roller brush won't turn. I can push and turn it by hand, but not easily. Then I noticed the brush on/off switch is turned off, but when I step on it, it won't turn on. I was thinking I let something get out of place when I opened the bottom, but can't see what.

We have a new hoover bagless that is a couple months old. The pet hair attachment stopped working. I disassembled it found lots of hair wound around the various rollers and removed - painstakingly thorough i might add. Problem is the brush still wont spin and now the belt seems loose - I think I put it all back together correctly but wondering if there is a trick to this?

The brush is not moving on the vaccume. I'm pretty sure that the belt is busted. I cannot see how to get the shroud off, so that I can get to the roller and belt. It all looks and feels like one piece, even when I start removing screws. It is a bag-less vac. The model number is - v1310rs. Thank you.

My Hoover Windtunnel Mach 6.9 brush roller quit working. Upon investigating I found that the idler arm pulley was broken so I managed to replace that. Before putting the cover back on I see the control knob for the roller brush moves a plastic piece left or right to activate/deactivate the brush roller. I don't know where this plastic piece connects. It appears to me that the idler are when raised creates tension on the belt which drives the roller. I'm at a loss trying to figure ou

Hello, I have a Riccar 8000. The belt works, the bar spins, and it will **** things up. However, it will not pick up threads and dog hair or anything from the carpeting. Mu husband took the bottom off and there were a couple of small parts on the plate. We have no idea where they belong. Could not see them in the photos in the manual. Could it possibly need a new roller? Any help would be most welcome. Thank you! Mary Simon

My Kirby G6 light is not turning on when I start the machine. I took off the front piece and removed a lot of hair from the roller and interior. Since I did that, the belt keeps coming off (even though it is fairly new). Is that the reason the light won't turn on? Is there any advice you can give me before I take it in?

The light indicates that the brushroll is spinning. If it isn't coming on, the power nozzle may have been reinstalled incorrectly. Take the nozzle off and then use my step-by-step guide to reinstall it. I expect that it will take care of the problem. ... Kirby Vacuums

I have a DC07 and the brush wasn't rotating and I had no suction at the brush but perfect suction through the hose. I noticed a large build up of dog hair around the brush so I took off the cover plate and removed all the hair, cleaned inside the floor/brush housing and cleaned out the hose. I also cleaned the filter and removed the other air access cover and made sure that they were clear. I put everything back and the brush still doesn't turn and there is still no suction through the bottom

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. After removing hair and string I put the vacuum back together and started it up, but the noise continued,

My Bissell Model 3760-4 is not working properly. The belt has been replaced (and checked 3 times), but the brush bar does not move when the brush motor button is on. The little metal turning piece that turns the belt is turnable with one's finger when the belt is off, but when we put it all back together and turn on the vacuum, the brush bar does not go around and the burning belt smell returns. In my (almost new) Dyson DC31 Animal the rolling brush tends to stop like the bearing was kind of difficult to turn. I opened the side carter and removed the little belt. Without the belt the engine runs regularly. I cleaned the little knots of hairs trapped in the bearing but still the brush runs for a while then stops, tries for a bit then stops again. I even tryed putting a bit of synthetic lubricant with apparently no result. Could it be a defective bearing? Thanks for your help.
