Having problems with your Vacuums ?

The switch on the wall only works to control the fan and not the light- it won't turn off the ligght. I replaced the switch but it did not solve the problem

Answers :

If this is a new installation and there was only one switch on the wall, say to control a light that was once there, then you have that switch hooked up only to the fan.\015\012If you want to control the light as well, it has to be wired up at the box where the fan attaches to the ceiling.\015\012HOWEVER, with only one switch, the light and fan will always be ON or OFF at the same time.\015\012You would need to wire in another switch to control the fan and lights independently.\015\012

I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). Any help to solve this problem will be very much appreciated. Tha

Wiring Two wires (black and red) connected to the slider on/off switch have overheated and melted away the 90degree connectors. Will replacing just the connectors solve the problem or is it more complicated, such as a resistor, capacitor, etc.?

This is easy and hard. If only two wires connect to the switch, cleaning up the connectors and replacing damaged items should fix it. Don't do anything unless the unit is unplugged. Try this first: connect the two wires together and tape them up. ... Electrolux EL5010A Bagged Upright Vacuum

My electrolux ambassador power wand quit working. I replaced the switch that shuts it off when the roller stops, but it wasn't the problem. The on/off switch is fine, the motor is fine. We have traced the problem to the wires inside the canister by opening the inside cover to the bag container. We see the power cords going into the canister but we're not able to get to anything. We can't find any screws to undo that would open it up in order to follow the wires deep into the canister. We've bypa

On-off switch My problem is finding a source for an on-off switch for an electrolux vacuum sweeper model 2100. I have replaced the broken toggle and now the sweeper turns on but only as long as the outside button is depressed. It appears that the on-off switch itself is broken as the switch does not ''hold'' when the toggle is activated. It seems to return to it's ''off'' setting as soon as the toggle is released. What ''holds'' the switch in its ''on'' position? Does it depend only on the on-

Hi Hugh. The 2100 has a rocker switch under neath the button. it is probably broken, or the button has a worn detent spring. If you would like, I could send you a switch kit with the rocker, button, and detent spring enclosed for around 20 dollars ... Vacuums

My Kirby G 2001 upright vacuum wont turn on. I tried another outlet and still nothing. I don't see a breaker switch anywhere. If you know of any common problems I would love to hear them. I am very mechanically inclined, I just was wondering if there are any common issues with the motors or power switches etc. so I don't waste a lot of time troubleshooting. Thanks

A 'burn' hole has appeared in the Microwave Outlet Cover causing arcing (or similar sparking and blue flashing!). Would replacing this cover with a new one solve the problem or does it suggest something that would quickly reoccur? Would it be an economical repair or should we ditch the machine for a replacement? Thanks in advance etc it is appreciated.

When i use the vaccum, it smells like burning rubber. I know this is probably a belt issue, but will a replacement belt solve the problem? If so what belt and where can i find it?

I would first check to see that the brush is not stuck. Remove any hair, or foreign objects that could possibly stop the brush from rotating. Some machines have latches to remove the plate for access to the belt and others have a couple of screws. ... Bissell Lift-Off(R) Revolution(R) Turbo Upright Vacuum

The repair shop told me my Oxygen3 needs to have a sumo(?) board replaced...again. I am not willing to pay for another repair and am wondering whether an new hose and adjustable extension tube would solve the recurring problem.
