Having problems with your Vacuums ?

My Roomba Discovery 4210 seems to be dead. Specifically, with or without a battery, and whether on the charging station or plugged directly into the charging unit, I see no lights on the display whatsoever. This unit has a history of killing batteries, but now seems like it is completely dead. I understand that the batteries themselves contain fuses; is there some way to bypass the battery (for now) to verify whether the unit itself is completely dead? I should also note that this is the sec

Answers :

Hello,

I will advice you remove the batteries from your Roomba Discovery 4210, after removing the batteries, plug the Roomba Discovery 4210 directly with the charger to an AC outlet, see if charges, if it does, it means the batteries are dead and will need to be replaced.

Take care.

The hand held dyson does not appear to charge. does the battery come away from the unit as I can't seem to release it? Would there be any point in buying a new battery as I don't know if this is the problem. The red light stays lit all the time it is on charge and when I take it off the machine does not respond at all.

The battery is located at the bottom of the handle. To release it, press and hold down the button on top of the battery case (it has 3 ridges on it). My robot will not charge. Tried multiple resets and new battery from irobot.com (both suggested by Irobot customer service) but got nowhere. The vacuum did work for a short time (until the new partially charged battery ran out). If I bypass the internal charging circuits and charge directly from the charger (with jumpers) the robot seems to work fine. Unfortunatey, there is no mechanism to turn off the charge cycle, so this is not practical.

After charging overnight, Roomba only runs about 25 minutes before shutting down with a red light. At this point the battery measures 15.13 volts ( about 1.26 volts per cell ) My hobby experience is that a ni/cad or ni/mh battery nominal charged voltage is about 1.2 volts per cell, and that the recommended end point voltage should be about 1.0 volts per cell. Seems like the battery is ok, butsome kind of voltage regulator is shutting things down prematurely. Is this happening, and , if so, how ca

My 400 series Discovery Roomba will no longer charge. It shows a green "charged" light, but when I hit clean, all lights/vacuum, etc just go out and it stops. Irobot says that the entire unit needs to be replaced, but it has to have something to do with the charging mechanism. Any Ideas? I've tried the system reset, and removing/replacing the battery. No effect. The robot doesn't give me the "uh-oh" beeps to be charged. It just stops and goes dead.
