\015\012Just had this problem myself...........easy to get at it when you know how.
\015\012Panasonic UK wouldn't help me so I spent some time working it out..........here it is.
\015\012Remove the hose from its mounting storage at the rear (called hose clip) where the main body of the vacuum cleaner meets the base of the handle assembly. Remove the screw at the rear of the handle assembly which is behind where the hose 'was' situated and is located inside the deep recess.
\015\012Using the soft part of your clenched hand as a hammer, knock the base of the handle assembly at the front and it will slide backwards off the main body of the vacuum cleaner. Don't be scared, give it a thump and keep moving it backwards with a few more knocks.
\015\012Next remove the two screws at the front which hold the mains cable and on/off switch cover in place.
\015\012Finally looking from the rear once more, lift the plastic 'lug' at the top of the cover and which is part of the cover. This will now allow you to release the cover and pull it forward.
\015\012There you go! Told you it was easy!
\015\012Watch out for the funny little spring at the front behind the cover in the tiny plastic tube where it connects to the small rubber tubing as it could possibly try to escape.
\015\012You now have complete access in order to cut the intermittent part of the cable out and remove it from the 'choc' block.
\015\012Happy fixing!!
\015\012Jack.

\015\012Trying to remove the cover to access the switch is most of the vacuums you can access the motor assm that is connected to the switch by un-screwing the cover to access the switch, or to check to see if the are clips that are holding the item, or contact the website for Panasonic.com and ask for a schematic of the vacuum and that will give you and exploded view of the way the vacuum is put together and by that you can see how to replace the switch.

The Panasonic MC-V7515 has two belts. The local vacuum repair guy says he only has a part number for the drive belt, which is UB-9. How do I find a replacement for the other belt, the one which directly drives the beater bars? By the way, this vacuum has great suction, but otherwise is far inferior to my previous Panasonic vacuums. The cheaper models aren't a good buy--stick with the more expensive models.

Which Kenmore vacuum cleaners are made by Panasonic? Are all of their direct drive machines made by Panasonic? We have a blue Hoover Windtunnel with the dirt sensor. It cleans well, but it is unbelievably noisy. I wondered if something was out of place and the brushes were hitting, but everything looks normal. We bought Kenmore models 36722 and 36724 and love them. I believe they were made by Panasonic. Our Kirby sits in the basement. Much heavier. These are quiet and clean well. I would like an

Hi I’ve got a Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC E468 1600W a few years old now but works well up to recent problem. Not picking up I checked the obvious things and found excessive air being sucked in around the hose housing at the back of the vacuum (as it enters the waste bag) On inspection it appears to me as if there should be some sort of gasket that may have perished and been sucked in, however I can’t identify any such part. Any thoughts on what the problem/solution may be will be appreciate
