Having problems with your Vacuums ?

I have a remote Hunter Ceiling Fan w/ remote 1-2-3 fan speed buttons and one on/off/dimmer light button. Model Number CP-9110R. It only has one pull string and it is for the light. I would like convert the light to work off of a simple wall on/off switch and the fan to be controlled by a 3-speed pull string. Can I by-pass all the sensors and make it work?

Answers :

I see noone has answered so I will.Yes,it could be done, but if there is not a conversion kit for your fan,it would not be wise to do it.For starters, all of the things required would probably cost at least $15.Also,there is at least one tool you would most likely need, probably do not already have, and would easily double that.Electrical considerations would be proper wire guage(thickness),rewiring, attaching to a switch which is in place solid. Also, with the fan so close to the ceiling there is a bad fire hazard.
\015\012Depending on how nice of a fan you would like,it probably costs between $50-$100.It would save you time, headaches, and uncertainty of fire starting. If the fan is on when noone is home, that would be a worrisome situation.Your house would be almost engulfed before anyone noticed and it would be too late to save anything. Also,if you do not want to keep your current fan,you could take it down and sell it and put the money towards a new one.You may not like my answer, but I have years of training and simply like to inform and educate people who are looking for answers.Whether I can help them or not,I tell them what to do and why.Greg

I was changing a light bulb with one of those metal extension rods that unscrew and screw back in the replacement bulbs. It evidently didn't seat correctly and pulled off the bulb and created a quick "poof" type electrical short. I have switched out that bad bulb with a new one and can't get either the fan or lights to work. There doesn't appear to be a reset switch. I also swirched out the wall switch to see if that would make a difference and it does not. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreci

We recently bought a home with a 52" Hampton Bay Berlini Model 729 395 ceiling fan with a light that operates on a remote control. There is also a wall switch plate with two circular controls - one pushes and spins, the other turns with 4 clicks. We can not get the light or the fan to operate using either the switches or the remote. We have checked the circuit breaker. The manual that came with the unit - provided to us from the previous homeowner - really only describes how to install the uni

I have a Hampton Bay Midili fan which I just installed about a month ago and it was working fine. A few days ago when I flipped the switch on the light flickered on and off consistently until I turned the switch off. The remote also stopped working to control the fan and light. Since this model only can be controlled by the remote I am worried I will have to replace the remote already after only 1 month!

In many of these remote controlled lamps you cant use the new spiral light bulbs .. you can only use standard incandescent lights .. if thats not the trouble then you may indeed have a bad controller (in the fan) .. there is probably at least a 90 d ... Vacuums

This is crazy, as I've installed about a hundred ceiling fans in my day, but......what is the function of the 3rd pull chain on the Hampton Bay I just installed? It isn't the directional control as the fan has the traditional switch for this. The only thing I can figure is it's a means to control the fan and light with one pull chain. The generic instruction book doesn't address it. Thanks for your help!

No Suction My two year old Kenmore Progressive stopped working in January. The guy at the Sears service center convinced me that buying a new one would be cheaper than getting it fixed. So I bought the exact same model and now this one has given out in the exact same way! I'm so confused. When I press on, it lights up and makes the whirring noise. Everything seems to be working but there is no suction anywhere. Not in the main part or the hose and there's no "cyclone effect" in the chamber. All
