Having problems with your Vacuums ?

The foot pedal on my Kenmore upright vacuum cleaner has broken three times. The vacuum model number is 116.33923 and the Sear's part number is 8174906. Does Sears make this part in metal instead of plastic? It is becoming expensive to keep replacing this piece when it costs around $20 each time (including shipping) Thank you for your time. Kirby Vacuum Hi Bruce, In my opinion, yes the Kirby would be worth it, as long as you are not replacing the motor. The switch would be the most expensive part besides the motor that would need to be replaced. The switch costs USD 49.99, the cord is roughly $39.99, and the carbon brushes are $29.99. I can easily walk you through any of these repairs should you need help. Kirby's are great vacuum cleaners, that usually last 30+ years. Brand new these machines sell in the US for $1600 or more,

The Panasonic MC-V7515 has two belts. The local vacuum repair guy says he only has a part number for the drive belt, which is UB-9. How do I find a replacement for the other belt, the one which directly drives the beater bars? By the way, this vacuum has great suction, but otherwise is far inferior to my previous Panasonic vacuums. The cheaper models aren't a good buy--stick with the more expensive models.

Replacement parts... I've got a 3594 Bissell and the belt has come completely off. In the process of breaking, it bent the metal guide inside the motor housing and melted the plastic that holds the guide and keeps the belt inline with the roller. I've got it running again by using a screw I filed all the threads off of, but it only works for 10 minutes at a time before breaking another belt. This process is getting expensive, as it usually takes 30 minutes to completely vacuum the house. Is ther

My Bissell Model 3760-4 is not working properly. The belt has been replaced (and checked 3 times), but the brush bar does not move when the brush motor button is on. The little metal turning piece that turns the belt is turnable with one's finger when the belt is off, but when we put it all back together and turn on the vacuum, the brush bar does not go around and the burning belt smell returns. The portable part of the machine works properly. It's the brush bar. It has been cleared of hair, etc

I'm trying to find a part number for the motor on a 113296200c, craftsman wet/dry vacuum. Sears could only provide part number 09 113826404 for the model number 113296250c. I have found motors with the model number 826404 on ebay, however no one can confirm if this is compatible. Can anyone help me out here?

The vacuum leaks dust around the joint between the bag and the vacuum. I unlatched the bag, removed and emptied it, and replaced it. However, the vacuum still leaks dust around the joint and the bag keeps working loose. How can I make sure that the bag is securely latched so that it does not leak or come loose? I have no manual. Thanks.

VACUUM REPAIR I have a Hoover Savvy upright, windtunnel, bag/bagless vacuum (model U8150-900). The Handle Release Foot Pedal - Part #38434026 broke soon after purchase but I finally found a source to replace this item. The problem is that now that I have the repair part I cannot figure out how to remove the old pedal and install the new one. The housing appears to be one piece of solid plastic. Any ideas, PLEASE! Peter

There are 2 tabs that stick out on the release, they fit in slots, so from the top look down and you can see them, using a flatblade screwdriver that will fit in there, push the side in to release it, which isn't easy, but it can be done. When you g ... Vacuums

I have a dyson dc07 with a malfuncitoning clutch diagnosed here on fixya. I've replaced the clutch and the grinding noise when the clutch is engaged for carpet and non rotating brush problem presists. This is after replacement of the clutch with a new part. Install of the new part went well and there are no otehr apparent problems with the unit. Ideas? The unit is only a couple years old and not used that much on carpet. For an expensive vacuum I'm not that impressed with it at this point.

Greetings from GoVacuum,\015\012\015\012If you have replaced the clutch already, then this can really only be one other problem, and that is the roller brush. If the roller brush's bearing have locked up, and the brush is no longer spinn ... Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I have an electrolux genesis upright vacuum that I bought used about 8 years ago. It has been A great vacuum the best I ever had. I thought the belt had come off so I took it in for repair. They called today and said that the brush rotor motor was bad and it would be around 148.00 dollars to repair. My question is could I buy the part and have my husband replace it or would it be too complicated. Can you still buy an electrolux vacuum comparable to this one and how much are they. I love this vac

Hi, I have a Kenmore Whispertone canister vacuum that I purchased in 2007. The model # is 116.22271503C, which seems to confuse the parts people. I need to buy a new powerhead & a few months ago was given a price of $75, but now Sears Canada tells me the part # is 20 116KC5OXBZRZUO1 described as Power Mate Assembly for $192.99. I thought the Power Mate was the small powerhead for stairs, upholstery, etc. Have they located the wrong part for me, or is this really what it costs?? Thanks in advance

I have Optima, 12amp Eureka vacuum, Model 431, AXZ type and the extension hose for cleaning corners and edges --the plastic part that the attachments fit into has a piece broken off and tools don;t fit anymore. It looks like the hose attachment can be replaced--can it be and if so--where can I get a new hose attachment. It seems it is cheaply made of plastic and really shouldn't have broken a piece off.

I have a Hoover Windtunnel U5472-940. The belt broke so I replaced it. Immediately the next one broke. The belt goes around the brush cylinder and a metal post. I think there is supposed to be something on the metal post to protect the belt but I can't tell from the owner's manual. I also can't find out if this is a part that can be replaced. I've only had the vacuum about a year and a half. Thanks

I heard that a class action lawsuit against Oreck Vacuum is being started because of all the problems customers are having with their vacuums. Does anyone know about this?
