\015\012I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
\015\012I am not sure how old your Hoover is but the old style the belt would change from the bottom and you would have to remove the bottom plate, lift out the brushroll and slide the belt onto the center of the brushroll, then look for the belt guide stamped right on the bottom of the vacuum and it will show you how to twist the belt in order for the belt to work, if the belt is on right you will have suction, if the belt is on wrong it will be blowing instead of having suction. If it is newer – you will have to remove the bottom plate or the top cover depending on the age of the vacuum and the belt will be on one side and the procedure is still the same – lift out the brushroll, slide the belt onto the brush, re-insert the brushroll into it’s position, then take a screwdriver or what I call a belt puller and stretch the belt onto the belt pulley then track / roll the belt and it will run straight and true. So, if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

I have an old Hoover vacuum model # U5035-930. The belt broke and I tried replacing the belt myself. I couldn't stretch the belt to attach it to the motor pully. It was belt # 38525-027 M6. Which I got from the previous owner. I took it to a vacuum repair place and he replaced it with belt # 38528-027 J4. I cannot find this belt anywhere.

I installed 2 new belts, # 38528034, and # 38528-035 There is so much slack in belt # 3852034 (brush drive) that it cannot grip the brush. There does not seem to be any adjustment to take up the slack. I've put in new belts twice now & cannot get brush to rotate or tighten the belt to the brush.

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

We have a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner, model Core 7. There is a switch that turns on and off the brush drive. This operates via a cam with a bearing putting pressure on the final drive belt to engage the brush head. There appears to be only a bearing deflecting the belt, should there be a pully or other device mounted on this bearing? There is so much slack a

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller.
