Having problems with your Vacuums ?
Shark/cordless /sweeper - over four years old.
Started - but seemed like it was caught and shut off almost
immediately. Not used year around - tried to start after absence.
I have removed some hair and perhaps dental floss.
Checked belt - it seems O.K.
Do I need a new battery or is it just worn out.
Check the brush,is there any dirt got stuck in between brush rolls. If there is then it needs to be cleaned.Your cordless sweeper will automatically shut off if an obstruction is caught in the brush roll. the other thing to checks is dust container.Check in case if dust container is full and its not got emptied. If the dust container is full then it needs to be emptied, other wise brush roll will not spin and unit will shut off.\015\012----------- But if all this things checked out ok then yes the battery needs to be recharged and checked. The battery needs to be charged for at least 4 hours to make the sweeper work,if the sweeper was not used for few months. But if the battery is not getting charged then the battery needs to be replaced. In some cases the battery charger it self gets short,so it does not charge the battery. To confirm that you will have to buy new battery and check. If the new battery is getting charged then charger is ok ,otherwise new charger also has to be ordered. The charger getting faulty is rare, but was noticed faulty in some cases. But if both charger and battery if they are working and still the same problem is noticed in sweeper then its faulty sweeper motor and controlling board. But this problem is very rare.As per the problem which you mentioned.the new battery should help. But you will have to confirm it by replacing battery.---------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.\015\012

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. It seems

We have a new hoover bagless that is a couple months old. The pet hair attachment stopped working. I disassembled it found lots of hair wound around the various rollers and removed - painstakingly thorough i might add. Problem is the brush still wont spin and now the belt seems loose - I think I put it all back together correctly but wondering if there is a trick to this?
Without the model number, I can't look it up, but this has a 1 years warranty on it, maybe take it to a warranty shop. Just take proof of purchase, model and serial numbers. ... Vacuums
My bissell model 18Z6 has developed a loud noise and vibration when the brush is running. I have removed the brush assy and cleaned all the hair, etc but still the noise. I ran the brush motor with the belt disconnected and all seemed ok, but of course there was no load on the motor. I suspect a problem with the brush assy bearings or axle or both but I hate to just throw parts at the problem. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Noise My Dyson DC08 is making a loud, rough, vibration/noise that seems to be coming from the from the rotating brush housing. I replaced the old belt which was several years old and slipping. When I run the motor with the new belt removed the machine sounds normal. The bearings on the rotating brush seem to be running smoothly when turned by hand both when out of the brush holder and when installed in the machine. I can't find anything rubbing on the belt or rotating brush. I applied a bit o

Generation 4 Apparently, my belt came off while vacumming. I had a lot of hari entwind on the roller, so cleaned off the hair.... but now I can't seem to get the belt to stay "in place". I have a Panasonic MCV7515 UPRIGHT VACUUM and need to remove the cowling that covers the brushes to clean the hair out of the bearings, but it isn't clear how that can be done without a crowbar or sledgehammer. I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

I have a roomba 551. Have cleaned and removed every bit of dirt and hair off it bu the brush cage won't close when the larger bush is put in. The cage will only click locked on one side, and the other side keeps hitting the brush and won't close. It's almost as if the bursh itself is not even, but this doesn't seem to be the case either. I've even tried removing the yellow rings, but makes no difference. Occasionally it runs fine, but most of the time the roomba just hobbles and clacks as i

I have a kenmore upright 12 amp (M.N. 116.30003402C) vacuum that is not drawing anything up the hoes. There is no obstrution in the hoes and motor, belts, components are working, but there seems to be perhaps something missing(a part) or lost in the macinism that aids in drawing the air required to **** dust/dirt through the hoes and into the bag. Perhaps a diagram of parts and their function would help. Thank you.

I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle. When I remove the rug nozzle and detach the belt from the motor fan shaft the motor starts when I depress the nozzle switch and the power switch . Seems like the brushes in the motor are worn out. Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so. I have tried the following things: -cleaned the two sponge filters -emptied the dirt receptacle -removed the roller and cleaned it -cleaned the brushes -the belt is not ragged and does not seem floppy -checked all of the airways for clogs (including removing the wheel base) Can you help?

I have a Eureka 5902AVZ and the brushroll does not work. when i remove the belt, which is not torn nor worn out, the motor spins perfectly fine. Though when i put the brushroll back into place, it shows that the motor is trying to spin, but with resistance. it seems the brushroll will not spin if locked into place, because there is no attachment on the left side of the brushroll that will allow it to spin freely with the belt. am I missing some parts or is there something else wrong?

I have a power drive baggless vacuum cleaner...it runs well, but suddenly it seems to have lost most of the suction coming through the hose and floor area. When I remove the dirt container, the suction below it seems strong. I have had it to repair twice--they have tuned it up and replaced all filters and belt. It still does not pick up well when I vacuum or use the hose. Can you help ?

It sounds as though a belt is rubbing or slightly off-track. The sound is extremely loud. We haven't tried to use it to check for suction for fear of doing real damage! Thank you. Marcia VanDyne

In my (almost new) Dyson DC31 Animal the rolling brush tends to stop like the bearing was kind of difficult to turn. I opened the side carter and removed the little belt. Without the belt the engine runs regularly. I cleaned the little knots of hairs trapped in the bearing but still the brush runs for a while then stops, tries for a bit then stops again. I even tryed putting a bit of synthetic lubricant with apparently no result. Could it be a defective bearing? Thanks for your help.
