I have a Singer Model #4562 sewing machine. I am having trouble adjusting the tension. Everytime I try and turn the knob to adjust the bobbin just gets looser. Right now it just snags and gets caught underneath the material and bunches up into a big ball. There is a lot of thread inside the bobbin case that came out of the bobbin and has to be cut out to free the material. How do I fix this mess. I am a novice at this. I have not sewn in several years and would like to sew a few quilts

Singer 327 lower bobbin thread is wild and loopy after I sew...top stitch fine. Just changed to a large thread spool with the heavy remote base and crook to carry thread to machine and wonder if this changed tension (set at 4 and correctly threaded)? It had been working fine in zigzag but I also went back to reg foot and set stitch width at 0, center needle set. Thanks for your input and help. Deanna

Chain tensioner Is it possible to change the chain tensioner of the Husqvarna 240 to a tool less chain tensioner or at least to the chain tensioner where the adjustment screw is accessed from the side not from the front. The problem is that there is a little plastic part that breaks rendering the chain tensioner useless. I have changed it twice and it keeps breaking. To change it you have to change the whole part that covers the break and chain mechanism.

I have a Kenmore 385.19110 model machine, and the straight and zig zag stitches work just fine, but when I follow the directions in the manual to do a satin stitch (which is use the lowest stitch length) it creates a line that isn't perfect, or uniform, and after an inch or two stops catching the bobbin underneath. Have already tried reinserting the bobbin, rethreading the machine, refilling the bobbin, changing the bobbin, cleaning the needle, changing the tension. Wondering if I just got a mac

I have had 226R 20 years. Don't use it much. I have learned to pull slack out of top thread to start so I do that. However, sometimes, as today, it will wind the thread around the bobbin holder and I have to take time to ge it all out clean it up. Is something out of adjustment or what. Sometimes it will sew OK then all of a suden it will start to wind the thread around the bobbin holder again. So I'm confused. Do you have any ideas. Thanks

I just had this machine delivered yesterday (Janome Magnolia 7330). When I sew a straight seam (all I've tried so far) I get loops at the underside of the fabric. I adjusted the upper thread tension, but that did not help. In fact the loops got larger as I increased the tension. My thought is that I don't have the machine threaded correctly. Thanks!

How is the V-belt tension adjusted (Hoover Model U6439-900)or how do I know if the tension is correct? There seems to be a lot of "play" in the belt and I'm wondering if that is the reason the brush roll only turns as the wheels turn, regardless of the carpet height setting. And yes, the brush roll is set for carpet, not hard floor. Or is the cause of the problem something other than the V-belt? A new flat belt was installed when the machine was professionally serviced so I assume (?) that was a

The V-Belt is not adjustable. There are two ways the belt has no tension: (1) when the handle is upright, a mechanical lever takes the drive tension off the belt, and (2) the brush roll lever setting you described. The upper handle would have to be ... Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum
