Having problems with your Vacuums ?

The powerhead on my Dirt Devil keeps cutting out, and after a few minutes, making a burning rubber smell. Only used it less than a dozen times (same thing happened with my Hoover!) It is free of hair etc...

Sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting on this unit. It could be that the bushings are worn and the "play" in them is causing them to seize (this is often accompanied by a chattering sound from the bushings).
\015\012
\015\012I would suggest lubricating the bushings & axles with WD-40 to clean them out and then put machine oil on them or maybe even something akin to wheel bearing grease.
\015\012
\015\012Only time I've seen this symptom where carpet seems to be "destroying" vacuum cleaners is when the carpet is used for pet bedding.
\015\012
\015\012Maybe there's carpet cleaner residue which is oxidizing ("rusting") the bushings.

I have a Hoover U5111-900 that, every time I attempt to use it, shoots everything it should be sucking up, back out toward my feet. I have replaced the bag, pulled out lots of animal hair and such from the area behind the bag, and taken off all parts able to be removed without a screwdriver and pulled out all chunks of hair, dirt, etc. It still keeps shooting everything it should **** up out the back. Is there something I can remove to get the clog out if that's the problem? I'm scared I wil

In the interest of saving electricity, is there any way to turn off all those annoying power indicator lights, charging lights, LEDs, etc? Like on the stove, microwave and nearly every other piece of electronic machinery ever made.I guess I want to know how much electricity are these things sucking over time? When I get up to use the bathroom at night it's a virtual light show!

Not much power is generated by those lights, I can assure you! Most LED bulbs are so small they only generate a fraction of money that a standard light bulb uses up. Especially if its just on household appliances. If you just switch them off at the m ... Black & Decker 15.6 Volt DustBuster Vacuum

We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet - HELP!!!! We're read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.

First things first. It's only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected und ... Vacuums

My Bissell BS3920F upright (similar to the 10N6F) has been working wonderfully for the past 3 years but suddenly seems to not pick up dog hair as well as it used to. It has been pulled apart by my husband to ensure nothing is blocking the hoses etc and when running the suction seems to be there. It seems to grab the dog hair and leave it in a straight line directly under the unit without picking it up. I then disconnect the hose and use to hose to pick up the dog hair. Last year my wife and I bought a new Dirt Devil Reaction All Surface vaccuum cleaner to replace the older Platinum Force. My electrolux oxygen vacuum cleaner shut off and will not turn back on. It's less than a year old, but I bought it off Craig's list--they were the orginal owner and they said they bought it in May of 2008. I've only used it a few times and it worked fine except for the last time when it suddenly just shut off. I thought maybe it had come unplugged and I didn't really worry about it because I was finished vacuuming. But, I went to use it tonight and it would not turn on at all--no lights, nothing

We have a series 90S, 2.5 gallon Shop Vac. We used it for the first time to try and **** up water in the basement. Each time we turned it on, it would shut down after collecting less than 1" of water. We had to remove and squeeze out the foam sleeve each time, before it would work again (nowhere near 2.5 gallons!). Any ideas? The bottom bar that encases the brush is flush to the floor when using the vacuum. This causes the suction to "stick" the vacuum to the floor (lamenate) and also as there is no ground clearance debris is just pushed around. We have to nearly stand the thing upright to get the ground clearance to be enough for things to start being sucked up. I have taken apart, re-assembled etc and nothing is working.

My 4870 K Boss is 2 years old. I have replaced belts & filters in the specified intervals. This last time I replaced the belt after a year, it shredded 3 of them on the outside edge of the belt in about 5 minutes of use. I ordered a new brush roller & heavy duty belt which I installed. It began shredding the belt in less than 5 minutes of use. What is your suggestion? Is this a known problem with this model? Eureka says no and is not standing behind it.

The only reason why it would be shredding the belt is if the pulleys were not lined up correctly. Check the allignement of the belt to make sure there is nothing kepping the pulleys from being in line. The other thing that it could be is if the rolle ... Vacuums
