Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Our beautiful Bernina 730 sewing machine has been stored in the garage in its original case, and that wrapped in plastic, for a few years now. Temperatures have been both hot and cold in the garage, but the environment was dust-free. We have brought the Bernina in, set it up, oiled it as specified in the manual, with the original sewing machine oil. We have correctly threaded the machine and the bobbin thread is up. When we press on the pedal to sew, the machine gets electricity and buzzes

Hello and thank you for using Fixya ....
From what you describe there can be only 2 causes...Either the machine is still stuck ..and the motor buzzes cause it can not spin it ..and in this case it needs to be oiled more..and be spun by hand until it moves well and free...and after that it will work ..or during the storage ..from condense or so ..the motor is stuck ..and needs to be checked...In this second case ..it probably need to be oiled too (the motor ) ..and the coils changed..
Have a nice day ..!

Have oiled my Bernina 707 minimatic 1970 sewing machine and I have power when I press the foot pedal, but when the handwheel is tensioned none of the mechanism under the free arm cover plate moves. I went to sew something and the needle jammed. I took the covers off and there is no debris - it was all oiled and left overnight. Now the Take up lever doesn't move and is in the down position.

I am attempting to transfer embroidery patterns from my computer to my Innovis 900D sewing machine. I connected the USB cord and placed the files onto the correct drive, but when I go to retrieve them on the sewing machine itself- the data counter at the top show they are there (156/476KB) but I cannot see them on the screen to select and retrieve them. I bought this machine about 3 years ago but hadn't used it due to illness. Now when I tried to sew with the Tuff Sew ,the threads continually break. If I can make about a 3 inch line of staight stitches without the top thread breaking,I consider myself fortunate The direction in the manual are extremely poor. I had to finish my project with my very old Bernina. I regret buying the Tuff Sew straight stitch. JLWebb

I bought an old Juki Baby Lock 418 at a garage sale. It will sew for 3 or 4 inches and then seems to be off timing and locks up. I have no instruction manual. Is there a manual available for this old machine? I would prefer a downloadable manual because I already have money invested in the machine which doesn't seem to work. It was suppose to have been gone over at a repair shop before I purchased it and was told that it worked. .

I have a Bernina 930 sewing machine. I read the advice from "dogdanes" about the basting unit seizing up and I think this is my problem. It has happened once before, and I NEVER use the thing, so I think it's frozen. My flywheel won't turn. Can you help me fix this? I have a sewing business and can't afford to have my Bernie in the shop for weeks. Thanks. Maripat

Hi marjpatv,With your Bernina 930 sewing machine where the flywheel won't turn and seems like it's frozen, sounds like it needs some oiling. You may want to try having it oiled first since it could be a possible cause of this issue. You m ... Vacuums

I just had this machine delivered yesterday (Janome Magnolia 7330). When I sew a straight seam (all I've tried so far) I get loops at the underside of the fabric. I adjusted the upper thread tension, but that did not help. In fact the loops got larger as I increased the tension. My thought is that I don't have the machine threaded correctly. Thanks!

Hello, I have a Viking Topaz sewing machine, the top thread is visible on the underside of fabric, indicating a tension problem. I have cleaned the machine, turned it off and back on, rethread it numberous times and tried to manually correct the tension. but nothing helps. What am i missing? Thanks

The stiches are looping on the underside of fabric.I have tightened the top tension to its maximum.I have the correct sized needle, the machine has been oiled and it is threaded correctly. What else can I adjust?

There is an adjustment on the bobbin holder - the little screw on the plate. Make sure that the bobbin is tightly wound and that it is correctly inserted, the thread must double back on itself coming out of the holder. ... Vacuums

My Bernina 807 set on min. speed takes off fast, doesn't go slow at all, although there is a difference in the slow speed setting and high speed setting if I switch from one to the other while stitching. The machine is well oiled and goes well apart from this. I would like min. speed to start smoothly and slowly. I have read it could be capacitor in foot, but DH says it does not look burnt out. Would it help my problem to remove it? thank you, Barbara

I have two old identical 5842's that I use in the garage and around the house. The belt broke on one so I bought a bag of 2 genuine Eurika "U" belts, which is the correct belt for this vacuum.
