Having problems with your Vacuums ?

I am trying to change an old fashioned fuse, (house lights), luckily had a spare one. Have put the 15amp fuse wire through the whole thing, and trying to describe if I've got it right is alitle awkward, this is what i've done, cut a piece of 15amp wire a little longer than the old one, then loking at it, taken it straight through and round to left as I'm looking at it, and put the screw in, and obviously done the same for other side. My problem is that I don't remember taking the screws out of w

your descriptions are understandable and sound about right.
as long as the wire is securely fixed to both pins, you should be ok.
if there are any problems, especially if the fuse blows again fairly soon, then i strongly recommend calling a qualified electrician to check the system.

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn't move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can't get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. The lady said there's supposed to be a small space between the motor shaft and the outside edge of the vacuum where I can slip the old belt off and the new one on. I don't see it. It looks like the motor shaft goes into a recessed place in the

Nutone Broan CV556 runs continuously and will not shut off until I unplug it.. I disconnected the low voltage wires and it still runs when I plug it in. Inside the top of the vacuum are 3 electrical devices - one looks like a transformer wire -- one is a rectangular electronic black box. The third is an on off rocker switch. Which piece it likely to be shorted out? It is about 8 years old.

Have a Centralux Aerus about 5 years old. Don't see a model number. There is suction but beater brush quit working. Was using for a few minutes, shut it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and suction only. Tried the reset button also. Tried the sidekick attachment and it works fine. There was no smell like something was hot. Belt is fine. Are there any fuses or anything else to try? This vacuum cleaner has not really been used that much, it is hard to believe the motor would need replaced

I have used it about 12 times and it worked great the first 6 times... Now i'll empty a full tank of water and only half will get sucked back up. I have tried taking it apart and cleaning and also the rubber seal had some gaps so i sealed those thinking that it was leaking air from there...can anyone help? I am so close to chucking this one and buying somet

The brush wouldn't work when the selector switch was in carpet mode. Took the power head apart and removed the motor. Everything o.k. in the power head. Checked and found that the neutural wire had pulled out of the connector, the connector was never crimped at the factory. What a day! Took 2 hours and a large pizza to get it done. Neutral wire was in the hose just below the handle. Reconnected the wire and crimped it, put everything back together. It works!!!!

Can the two inlet pipes be connected to one line? The central vacuum I have is probably from 1993/4. It has one exhaust pipe and two inlet pipes. It was initially under my stairs. I would like to move it and have in fact moved it to the garage but am now fitting the pipes. I would like to join the two pipes that were previously going to the two inlets into one pipe. Can I do it? Also would I then join the wires? Would I put a plate on the other inlet? THANKS. It is a SMART president's choice vac

Roomba Discovery Roomba is fully charged and cleaned with sensor wiped clean. When turned on it it sounds normal and commences to go, but it then acts like it is putting on the breaks, spins, tries to go and manages a short distance and breaks again, just not making any progress because it keeps breaking after a foot or so and turns and tries again. I have two old identical 5842's that I use in the garage and around the house. The belt broke on one so I bought a bag of 2 genuine Eurika "U" belts, which is the correct belt for this vacuum. They were obviously smaller than the original belt because they were not stretched out. When I put the new belt on it lasted about 20 minutes and then came off. I put it back on and ran the vacuum with the cover off to see what was wrong. Everything looked fine except the belt rides to the outside edge of
