Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Guys I am in the position to buy a Homelite Generator 1100watt 4 stroke its a shelf demo, but the noise decible seems to be a bit load at 93, my 2 stroke is only 91 my main concern is will this be nioisy if I bolt it to my drawbar on my caravan

Answers :

Hello,

The difference between 91 & 93 dB is negligible. If the genset is a good deal, take it, and then look to improve the dB dampening. Most all gensets can have additional silencing added to them. Even bolt-on systems are often threaded beneath the gasket surface allowing for improvements. Either way, you are probably OK, and will not notice a significant difference in dBs. Also, it may be possible to mount the generator in such a manner as to have the exhaust facing away from your caravan, reducing the noise even further. Isolating the generator frame from the drawbar will also significantly reduce the transmitted noise. You may need to give this additional thought; motor mounts for auto engines strike me as a possibility.

When squeezing trigger and Depressing Clean surge Button on Upper handle of the Hooover Steam Cleaner F5914-900 there is no "snap" indicating trigger rod is in place. Everything else went in as instructed. The screws and bolts were no problem this concerns me because the main complaint I read about this model was leaking from the trigger and clean surge and the problem was not getting the rod in place. No matter how many tries or people (three) it still doesn't occur.

My Kirby 2HD has started making an odd roaring noise but still works fine. I have taken the front assembly off and cleaned and adjusted the roller and checked the belt. The noise seems to come from the motor housing. I have tried to wiggle the main shaft at the front (bearings?) and it seems tight. Can't seem to get the other housings apart. Any ideas? Thanks, John

It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum

My model F5906-900 --- problem is the brushes have stoped working... When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. If you have another belt for this vacuum, please put it on and see if the noise stops. If it does ... Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel Cyclonic Bagless UprightVacuum

Noise My Dyson DC08 is making a loud, rough, vibration/noise that seems to be coming from the from the rotating brush housing. I replaced the old belt which was several years old and slipping. When I run the motor with the new belt removed the machine sounds normal. The bearings on the rotating brush seem to be running smoothly when turned by hand both when out of the brush holder and when installed in the machine. I can't find anything rubbing on the belt or rotating brush. I applied a bit o

Hi my vacuum (Russell Hobss 2200 bagless HEPA) seems to have just enough ( not loads) of suction til it reaches the cleaning head. the head does not appear to be blocked - but there is then almost no suction at all. It also makes loads of noise when on- and an even louder noise when turning off. is it fixable or is it dead? Thanks

No suction I've only had my vacuum for a couple of months and it seem I have a similar problem but there is no clear blockage. It seems like I don't have adequate suction that reaches the accessory hoses nor the main one. I'm not sure where to start. I've taken the darn thing apart but I can't see any obvious malfunction. Any suggestions?

No Suction My two year old Kenmore Progressive stopped working in January. The guy at the Sears service center convinced me that buying a new one would be cheaper than getting it fixed. So I bought the exact same model and now this one has given out in the exact same way! I'm so confused. When I press on, it lights up and makes the whirring noise. Everything seems to be working but there is no suction anywhere. Not in the main part or the hose and there's no "cyclone effect" in the chamber. All
