Having problems with your Vacuums ?

Hi, My mom gave her machine to me but with no guide. It is an Elna 5000. Just need to know the following - I want to shorten a T-shirt but use the same double sticthing than the shop. It looks like two needles are working simeltaneuosly. How do you do that - how do you do the threading for that? Maggie

Answers :

Maggie,
\015\012getting hold of a manual is always a big help so I would suggest that you go to this page http://www.arizonaexpressionz.com/elna_instruction_manuals/Elna7000.pdf and save this manual. It is for the 7000 which was released about 9 months after the 5000. It will have more stitches than yours but the threading up, accessories and look of the machine is identical to yours. These were the first computerised machines made by Elna Tavaro in Switzerland back in 1987/88.
Hello Maggie

Describing and explainig how to do it, is not the simplest of tasks, and the information may not be sufficiently clear.
Here is one of many sites you can get a Manual for your machine:
http://www.whitesewingcenter.com/manuals.php

It is probably the best idea since it will explain it all in detail and lots more than just that particular operation.

Pfaff Creative 1459. When trying to wind a bobbin, I do what I've always done, turn the small round "wheel" on the right, slide the bobbing into the little knob that keeps it in place and gently press the foot thing on the floor that should start the bobbing to winding. The bobbin does not turn at all causing a loud whirring sound and the needle goes up and down as if it were making stitches. I finally got some thread onto the bobbin but it is not smooth and looks like a spider. I really nee

So, I was sewing along and heard a thump...kind of sounded like a louder version of what you hear when the needle hits a pin...but I wasn't using pins. This, of course, lead to the thread jamming so I had to clear that. When rethreading I pulled out the bobbin case to make sure it was seated correctly and found a kind of "v" shaped piece of wire (about the width of a paper clip I guess) sitting loose under the bobbin case. I took it out and threw it away. Still can't pull up the bobbin threa

That part was the hook end of the spring that was supposed to put tension on the bobbin - it will have to be replaced. This is a special flat spring that unfortunately only a repair shop of a dealer has it - you will have to take your machine to one. ... Vacuums

Borrowed Brother XR7700 Sewing Machine 1st: Sewed one inch OK; moved fabric and it stopped sewing, motor made thudding noise. When push-button (NOT pedal) is used, gives error E6, consistent with motor noise. 2d: In order to check threading had to manually PULL bobbin case toward me or it was UNDER needle plate. Cleaned a fair amount of dust out. Reinstalled bobbin, etc., per manual, rethreaded. 3rd: Will sew 2-3 stitches, then packs up again just like in 1st instance above. Have st

Kenmore YM-40-35 R Sewing Machine Manual (or copy) wanted. If a manual is not available, I'd be OK with instructions for threading the needle and bobbin and any additional details that an expert may have. I think the machine may be a Canadian model number, it looks old, made of metal with screwed in presser foot. Thanks v. much. Elizabeth, [email protected]

I have the Janome 6600 P. Beginning a seam the thread knotted and the machine made noise and needle would not move either up or down. I manually moved the needle using the handwheel and cut away the knotted thread. I began sewing again but instead of starting at the edge began about a half inch down, forward stitched, reversed to lock threads and problem repeated and received the message to "Stop for safety purposes". Did that. Referred to the manual, tried manual recommendation. Did not work. I

Rick E1, it looks like the Motor Pulley, Elna #440152-20 needs to be replaced on my 722010 model (flat on one side from standing around. Also, any idea where I could find a reasonably priced Motor Pulley.

I have a Pfaff 7570 ... having a problem with the upper thread making a small loop just above the fabric by the eye of the needle, just before the tip of the needle is piercing the fabric, the stitches that produced are properly formed with the right tension, but the loops get in the way sometimes and I know it never used to do this before. After reading the service manual I'm suspecting the "thread check spring" is not functioning properly. The manual gives steps how to adjust it, but it d

Have Electrolux 1590 whole house vac, and can't see how to get brushes out. Leads so short, and don't want to break them trying to free brushes. Do they slide out of plastic housing? My eyes not real good, but it looks like the leads are part of a brass sleeve that slides into the plastic housing. It also looks like the plastic housing may be a snap lock type, but I don't see how to open it.

Dead motor? My 8 year old Miele S251i has worked fine, until I was recently vacuuming and moved the plug from one outlet to another. When I restarted the vacuum, it made rrrrr.....rrrrrr....rrrrr noises and smelled like something was burning. I turned it off, and it's shown no signs of life since. Sound like a motor problem? I've taken the cover off and looked at the cord and seen the motor, nothing looks obviously wrong, but I'm also not mechanical.

I replaced the belt and next to the light bulb was a square gray mat that looked like a filter covering a screen full of holes that looked like the motor was behind. I think it was a mat of cat hair so I took it off and threw it away; I just want to make sure that it wasn't a filter that I need to replace.

From doing a search on the internet and hoovers website it looks as if this unit does not have a filter. Such as a hepa that needs to be replaced or that is washable. So i think you are safe and dont need to worry about it. ... Hoover Elite U5061-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum
