I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

Is there a way to remove the brush filled with dog hair to make it easier to clean instead of just pulling out by turning upside down?

It's best to simply use a knife or razor blade to cut through the hair and clean it out that way. Taking the power head apart can easily result in more serious problems. ... Hoover Vacuums

I was changing a light bulb with one of those metal extension rods that unscrew and screw back in the replacement bulbs. It evidently didn't seat correctly and pulled off the bulb and created a quick "poof" type electrical short. I have switched out that bad bulb with a new one and can't get either the fan or lights to work. There doesn't appear to be a reset switch. I also swirched out the wall switch to see if that would make a difference and it does not. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreci

Henry brushes seem to catch in the carpet when pulling-will the brushes soften and make it easier to use as it makes the head bounce of the floor a bit when pulling making it harder work to vacuum?

There is a "see-saw" type switch on top of the cleaning head (the part that you push across the floor). This raises and lowers the brushes according to the type of floor you are vacuuming. Move this switch to the other postion and you will find that ... Henry Vacuums

Folks, My wife and I own a three-year-old Hoover U6434-900 self-propelled "Wind Tunnel" upright vacuum cleaner. The problem is that, even on the highest setting (front-end as high as possible), it gets bogged-down in even shallow pile carpet to the point that the brush stops. I've cleaned the machine thoroughly, pulling hair, thread, dental floss and such from the brush (and everywhere else), including unscrewing the brush end caps and pulling out the cat hair mats which formed in there.

I have a Hoover U5111-900 that, every time I attempt to use it, shoots everything it should be sucking up, back out toward my feet. I have replaced the bag, pulled out lots of animal hair and such from the area behind the bag, and taken off all parts able to be removed without a screwdriver and pulled out all chunks of hair, dirt, etc. It still keeps shooting everything it should **** up out the back. My brush roller stopped spinning so I had to take it off and clean out all the hair that had gotten wound around it. I replaces it and now it is make a lound noise, but only when the brush is on. Could it be the belt making such a loud sound? It wasn't making this noise before.

Could very well be the belt.\015\012When cleaning the brush it is a good idea to add some WD40 at the ends where the plastic pieces are that hold the brush in the vacuum. My Bissell BS3920F upright (similar to the 10N6F) has been working wonderfully for the past 3 years but suddenly seems to not pick up dog hair as well as it used to. It has been pulled apart by my husband to ensure nothing is blocking the hoses etc and when running the suction seems to be there. It seems to grab the dog hair and leave it in a straight line directly under the unit without picking it up. I then disconnect the hose and use to hose to pick up the dog hair. This works well but obviou

I have a Model 116.35922500 Kenmore upright vacuum cleaner. It makes a loud air noise when using the vacuum. I have disconnected and removed the hose to see if anything is lodged in the hose and it appears clear. It makes the noise when the hose is connected. When I remove it, the noise stops. I have a remote Hunter Ceiling Fan w/ remote 1-2-3 fan speed buttons and one on/off/dimmer light button. Model Number CP-9110R. It only has one pull string and it is for the light. I see noone has answered so I will.Yes,it could be done, but if there is not a conversion kit for your fan,it would not be wise to do it.For starters, all of the things required would probably cost at least $15.Also,there is at least one tool you would ... Vacuums

Lately, my Kirby Ultimate G has been acting funny. When I push it forward, it's fine, but when I pull it backward on the carpet, the light on the front flickers and the power flutters off an on. I thought it might be the rollers, so tonight I turned the machine over and pulled out the hair that was wrapped around the roller. However, that did not fix the problem. I should probably backtrack a little bit. In the past, I have had problems with the vacuum running over its own power cord.

Shopvac 90L400 quit working (4 years old). Thought the switch was bad but not the problem. I read that there is a fuse link in the motor that frequently burns up.
