My Bissell 3920 motor is making a high pitched noise. I have cleared out pet hair from top to bottom. Cleaned the lower filter and replaced the upper filter. I Checked for blockage in the hoses and found none. The filter indicator goes green when I turn it on, but the straining motor noise persists.

I bought a Kenmore canister vacuum, model 116, in April 2007. This morning, the sound of the motor suddenly began to deepen, and I began to lose suction. Normally, if something is clogging the hose, the motor will wind up to a higher pitch, not a lower one. The filters are clean, the bag is empty, and I can't detect anything lodged in the hose. If this were a car's engine, I would say it's "lugging down". Any pointers?

Okay, bear with me. Is it possible you have a suction adjustment, dial somewhere on vac. Check and see and if it does, be sure it's all the way up. Also, try removing hose and run a broom handle fr. one end to the other...BUT be careful not to stretc ... Vacuums

I have a Panasonic MCE6003 vacuum cleaner. I regretfully leant it to a neighbour and it came back full of dog hair and keeps cutting out. I cleaned out the dust container and the main filter but it still kept cutting out after 5 minutes. I decided to unscrew the part with the motor and wash the filter inside. It was all going well until a large rubber washer bit, a piece that looks like the thermostat and a little white button attached to two black wires fell out and now I have no idea how to put

Our dog urinated on the machine. We cleaned both filters & plastic areas. Some might have gotten into the motor housing since it still smells terribly when turned on. Please advise

I have a nearly 9 year old Electrolux Excellio Z5228 vacuum cleaner. It has recently started cutting out during operation. I cleaned the micro filter (between bag & motor) via brush & hitting against wall & seems / looks quite clean. I washed the gore filter (output from motor to clean the exhaust air) as per instructions, then let to dry. It was very clogged but now very clean. The vacuum clearner still cuts out often. Even after a long rest (say overnight) it still won't start, then ano

Miele Cat & Dog vacuum gets VERY hot and is VERY loud. Hose has no restrictions and I have changed the dust compartment (motor) filter and the exhaust filter. It still gets hot when I run it with the top open and all filters removed, so I'm guessing the problem is with the motor. Should I be going into the motor compartment? If so, what am I looking for?

Hi\015\012\015\012The fact that it gets very hot could be due to a number of issues.,but the fact that it started making a very loud noise at the same time suggests that there might be more problems maybe brushes etc.\015\012\ ... Miele S514 Solaris Bagged Canister Vacuum

Replacing filter Got a Filter Queen Majestic vacuum from my inlaws when they moved overseas. I am in middle of vacuuming, got a weird noise, so opted to check and clean the filter for first time. UGH. The lower 'pot' that's the bottom part of the thing was full of gunk, but the filter pristine clean against the cone that's attached to the upper part of the unit. In other words, I am shocked to see that the dirt goes not INTO the filter, but outside of it into the bottom portion (that I call the

I have a Kenmore 116.36932 (upright-bagless vacuum) that the motor protector by-pass valve has opened. I've clean out the area between the agitator brush where the flexible extension hose starts. There was some blockage there. I checked the rest of the system (extenstion hose, back filter area, pipe area to canister and area to side filter. I took the 2 filters out and the by-pass valve is still open. Where else could there be a blockage that I can take apart to clean and put back together

Cleaning Filter Hi: I want to clean the filter on the B&D pet hepa vacuum, but can't figure out how to take it out of its housing. I can remove the housing from the actual vacuum, but don't know how to get the filter itself out. It sure does smell of dog, so any help would be appreciated.

I removed the filter from the motor in the ball. After I cleaned it and let it dry, I put it back in. From then on, it makes a moaning noise when I turn it off after I vacuum. I followed directions to clean it and put it back (it's pretty straight forward and fool proof). I've since cleaned the filter a second time, doing the same steps and it seems to have made it worse.

I'm not really a technician, but I used to sell Filter Queens and was taught how to maintain them, and have tackled "fixing" some problems. I am a 71 year old great-grandmother of 8, but have good health and am very active. The Filter Queen I have is r, usedeally old, and I have kept it up. Just this week, however, I turned it on and it had a noise which sounds like something might be loose in the motor. I have always been very careful to have a clean hepa filter to protect the motor, so I know

My vax power 8, 2200 watts 300 air watts 4L capacity upright Hoover is brand new, I emptied out the dust/dirt collecter and cleaned the motor filter yesterday for the first time, i switched it on and all fine, the brush is spinning and the hose is sucking, put the Hoover to work it's fine for about 30 seconds then then suction stops and its dead it won't collect no more, so switched off taken apart again and the motor filter is blocked and full of dust, so I unblocked it, do the same process aga

Our Bissell Cleanview II 3576M does a great job except that the filter cup below the dirt cup gets full very fast and the dirt cup barely has anything in it. To clean the whole house, I have to empty the dirt cup and clean the filter several times. It didn't use to work this way. It seems like something is missing, a gasket or seal maybe? I don't think dirt, hair and debris should be going straight to the lower cup and bypassing the upper. I looked at the user guide but can't see why it's happen

Our problem with our Rainbow E Series is that it has sucked water up and blown it out through the lower part of the hepa filter, making the filter wet and dirty. This had happened before and the repair shop did not see any problems with the machine, so we replaced the filter and were very carful not to overfill the tank and to change the water often. Now it has happened again and ruined another filter. Do you know what could be causing this issue? Can the filter be cleaned or will a new one be

My DC17 is only a few months old, but I've already had to clean the filter. Since I reassembled everything, I'm finding chunks of carpet fiber and dog fur on top of the filter inside the filter container. Iam getting slightly less suction from the floor assembly as well. I've checked the hoses, brush, and brushed out the inside of the plastic container, but hasn't helped. Ideas??

I was just using my Bosch 1450W bagged vacuum and all of a sudden, the motor just shut down. No warning, no problems. The light still turns on, but the motor is unresponsive. There is a clean bag and filter, and nothing caught in the front roller. The motor sounded fine - no shaking, or weird frequency variations. There were no weird smells, just a little bit of heat, but nothing beyond normal. I've had this thing for several years, and never had a bit of trouble with it. Any suggestions

I have a DC07 and the brush wasn't rotating and I had no suction at the brush but perfect suction through the hose. I noticed a large build up of dog hair around the brush so I took off the cover plate and removed all the hair, cleaned inside the floor/brush housing and cleaned out the hose. I also cleaned the filter and removed the other air access cover and made sure that they were clear. I put everything back and the brush still doesn't turn and there is still no suction through the bottom

Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so.
