My hoover keeps cutting off and on, now it doesn't even come on. I have checked the fuse its ok and i can't cheak the wireing, the plug is moulded into the socket.

Chances are your cord was damaged inside the insulation and over time it finally opened. That would cause the cac to not operate any more. If you have access to or one of your friends has a multimeter then you can check the wiring by using that meter ... Hoover Vacuums

It's probably best to replace the device, when dealing with sparks and exposed wires. \015\012\015\012If you're electrically-inclined, feel free to pry it apart (when unplugged!) and see if you can re-attach things, but generally soldering or g ... Vacuums

One of the pins on the plug on my hoover have snapped off, the top one. so i cut it off & tried to use a normal plug but it has blew the electrics. Is there any way round this? Thanks

If you connected all the wires the correct way to the plug then you could have a short in the wiring in the hoover. Get an engineer to check it out. ... Vacuums

The Power carpet sweep attatchment when plugged in runs on and off intermittitly. (Cuts on and off) It has barely been used What is wrong I don't see any loose wires

Try pushing into valve just a little more. If that doesn't solve the problem, it's probably a loose wire in the hose, wands or power nozzle. Could be the circuit breaker in the power nozzle. Contact your installer or a local vacuum cleaner repair cen ... Electrolux Central Vacuum

Henry hoover Hi all, I bought a spares/ repairs Henry on ebay having been told there was no cable rewind and believing that since I had a spare one in the shed it would be an easy fix. However, poor Henry had his cable replaced to find when plugged in, he tries to start but nothing happens. The motor turns once and just cuts out. If you turn it on and off again it happens again. One whir and turn of the motor, then nothing. It blew the fuses out in the kitchen first time too, so could it be a re

We just installed a Hoover central vacuum system. As soon as we plug it in the system starts even if the switch is off. If we disconnect the wire the system goes off. What did we do wrong?

You have either left the manual switch at the vac in the on position, or you have a low voltage short at one of your inlets in the house, or at the vac itself or where a pair of wires are connected together at a pipe junction. Carefully go back ... Vacuums

It looks like you need a professional repair. If you're really lucky this may just be a break in the flex, or the switch has failed - both relatively cheap and simple to sort out. More likely, though, is a problem with the motor (carbon brushes worn ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Oreck Upright Hi Redev, I'm not sure what model I have (about 6 years old...upright, looks like the one in the picture). I changed the belt (which was torn) and then the next time I used it, it cut off on me. Now if won't turn on at all. (I turn the switch on and off and nothing happens as if it is not plugged in but it is!). I noticed at the top where the power cord enters the handle, it is all frayed. Could the electrical wires have detached? Anything you think I should check before taking it

The cord could be bad and will ahve to be replaced. It would have to have a problem inside the handle or down by the motor. ... Oreck XL2600 Vacuum

Hoover Vacuum My Hoover cannister model s3614 "runabout powermax" suddenly lost power to the agitator roller in the rug brush. Where the wire cord enters the power brush, the covering has rubbed off exposing the wires which are not bare but still have their own covering. For a while the power came and went as I manipulated the wires but finally died. Is this something I can fix myself or is it going to be an expensive professional repair? (Warrantee has elapsed.) Thanks.
