\015\012Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. 1st. I do not know the brand name and model # fr the vacuum so the next time include that type of information. So, if you removed the towel from the hose section then there almost has to be something in the powerhead and the power nozzle neck there would have to be a clog and you need to open the powernozzle and look for a clog of some sort in the power nozzle or the wand section that would block the flow of the dust and dirt to the canister section. Check your owner’s manual to see the trouble shooting section for unclogging your vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

\015\012Thanks, Don the Vac Man

I opened the cannister to change the bag and when I closed it the motor switch will not turn on. The second position which turns on the attachment for rugs still comes on. We thougth it was the switch so we ordered the part and it is still doing the same thing. Is there a reset button somewhere inside? The only reset button I see is on the attachment which is working.

It can be a few things. First check the overload protector located on top of the canister. If it has tripped the unit will not run. Push it in to reset. \015\012If that is the problem check the motor safety filter to see if it is clogged and caused t ... Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum

My BROAN CV-110 hose with the rug beater only works if I turn it on from the base unit. Shouldn't it turn on when I plug the hose into the wall recepticle? Do I need to replace the hardware at the end of this hose and if so, where would I purchase that? This central vac came in a house I just purchased. Thanks for any help. Sherry

Won't work My Eureka Mighty Mite 3670 Bagged, was working fine, and we unplugged it to switch to another outlet in another room and it just stopped. We tried several other outlets and it just won't turn on. We thought maybe it got hot because we had been using it for a while and we let it rest for a while and then changed the bag just to be sure, although it was not full. But it still will not turn on. Any ideas?

I have a Craftsman wet dry vac with blower capability (22 L). While I was using it to **** up water, the water came out of the blower hose. Now I can't get it to work as a vacuum. What can I do to fix this problem? Is there a toggle switch somewhere that allows me to choose vacuum or blower? Also, will the vacuum still work without the filter nut attached to the plate? Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

I have a Kenmore upright progrssive intell clean. For some reason it isn't sucking when I use it to vacuum. When I use attachments they work fine, but when I plug the hose back in after using the attachments and turn it back on it makes a weird noise and I can feel air blowing out of the back. Can you help me resolve this problem?

You have the answer and just don't know it. You are there so keep looking. Somewhere between where the suction hose connects with the lower hose and the power-head. Try having someone turn the machine on and off while you pull the cord in and out with the cord more angled towards the on/off switch. Sometimes these models have a break in the cord rewind and will not put the power through to the motor. ... Miele Vacuums

My vacuum cleaner works, all but the "foot". It turns off automatically and the light comes on telling me to "check brushroll". I've done this and removed all hair, strings, etc. It still turns off automatically, while the main vacuum and hose remain on. What else can I do?

Please post back with a brand and advise more info, however , I assume this is a canister vac with hose and `power head``. Often a power head brush roll will build up hair and thread which travels and winds up at the end of the brush wher ... Vacuums

I did this and removed all hair, strings, etc., Still won't work. Please respond. The last post took over 30 minutes with no response.

Sounds like you have hair or carpet buildup in the roller and it is not freely rotating and you are getting an error. If there is no buildup, then roller bearings may be frozen up, or the unit has a faulty capacitor and is not going to work due to el ... Vacuums

The self propell does not work... i turned it over and took off th bottom plate and can see where the cable is suppose to be attached to the drive system, but it is no longer atteached, so it came out or a piece of the vaccum broke as it seems to be alot of plastic.. i see a screw and the end of the cable is still there... Poor suction The actual sweeper seems to work ok, but the hose attachment has some suction but not enough to pick up things I think it should and not enough to make the power brush spin. I've checked everywhere I can for clogs, but I can't see anything. And there doesn't seem to be any way to check to hose itself for clogs. I've cleaned out the container and the filters, but there's still a problem.

Check the inlet down by the brush roll, make sure it is open, if it is then the hose itself must have a clog. If the hose comes off, drop something like a marble in one end and see it it comes out the other end, if it doesn't then you have a clog. ... My dyson DC17 will not turn on unless the handle is pulled back.(into the vacuuming position) The attachment hose will not work at all (0 suction thru it). I've checked the hose and made sure there is no obstruction. Any ideas?

Not sure if I can help, but I'll try. The DC17 has two motors: the vacuum motor and a separate motor for the brush bar. Kenmore 21875 One day it's working fine. Next day, it won't turn on. When I attach the hose to another vacuum cleaner, it runs. Is there a reset button on the canister? Could it be the receptacle is bad? My Kenmore Progressive won't turn on today either -but was fine last week. I cleaned the filters checked for blocked air, tried a different outlet and no luck. My filter queen just had the motor rebuilt last year and was basically a brand new unit when I got it back. It is not picking anything up now when I vacuum. The beater bar on the carpet attachment is turning fine and when I take all the attachments off the hose I can feel the suction being created like it should be picking up debris just fine. I have emptied the canister even when it did not have much in it; however, it still will not pick anything up off the carpet. It picks up debris tempo

Your thermal cutout is tripping. This only happens when the motor heat gets very high, and the reason it takes a while to turn back on is that the motor has to cool down before it will reset.
