I have the Dyson DC14 and its like it's not brushing the carpet anymore, The brush is spinning, but its like it isn't self adjusting to the carpet height? It still has suction, but doesn't make the same sound it used to when you'd start vacuuming. Its like it never adjusts anymore???

I've lost my cord for my West Bend vintage Flavo-matic 8-cup 3280E percolator coffee maker. It does not take the standard 1/2" wide cord replacements which I've tried. The prongs look more like they're 3/4" wide. Would anyone be able to recommend an online store that may have this dimension of cord (and will ship to Canada)?

Meile Solaris. Power cord connection faulty. Unit powers on/off when cord is being retracted/pulled out. Maybe a break in wire close to connection point in vacuum. Or, the connection point itself is loose? The problem likely resulted from trying to use vacuum at furthest extent of cord.

Cord reel likely needs to be tightened. requirs disassembly and large washers installed to keep reel connections tight. Jim ... Vacuums

Could I have a short in my cord? I can vacuum & then when I move the canister it shuts off, if I wiggle the cord it will turn back on. This last time, it just revs like a car trying to start & then does nothing. I live in a VERY remote area (80 miles from nearest Wal-Mart or McDonalds) so I know I will not be able to find someone to repair this for me. I have great doubt that I will be able to do it myself & my husband is an accountant so he is unavailable for another 6 weeks!!!!! Any suggestion

Dead motor? My 8 year old Miele S251i has worked fine, until I was recently vacuuming and moved the plug from one outlet to another. When I restarted the vacuum, it made rrrrr.....rrrrrr....rrrrr noises and smelled like something was burning. I turned it off, and it's shown no signs of life since. Sound like a motor problem? I've taken the cover off and looked at the cord and seen the motor, nothing looks obviously wrong, but I'm also not mechanical.

I have an older Oreck XL vacuum that sounds like it is running twice as fast as it should. I disassembled the entire vacuum, including disconnecting the motor wires, to clean out the hair, string, and other things. My wife has a Revlon Rv051 curling iron .. has worked fine for several years but now it has stopped working. No response to pushing the ON switch (normally turns on a red LED).
