I am trying to disassemble a electrolux 2100. I have looked at instructions given by Chemist 1961 and others. On the side, I have removed the rubber covers over the plastic rails but I can't remove the plastic rails that hold the rubber covers on. If I am right, these rails should just slide right out and the outer casing should come part.....or am I doing something wrong. I have pulled and pulled the rails and they don't budge. The rear end won't pop off. Help!

There's a tab at the back of the rail that needs to be released. Turn the vacuum on it's side, slip the tip of a standard screwdrive into the space between the rail and the back of the vacuum, and tap lightly with a hammer. Tap toward the front of ... Electrolux Lux 5500 Canister Vacuum

On the DC07, the entire cyclone assembly must be removed to empty the dust, debris, etc. collected when vacuuming. On the top of the cyclone is a "trigger" that you lift with your finger to release the bottom catch, which allows a clear flap to open on the "clear bin," thus letting all the debris fall out. My problem is when you lift the finger trigger, it does not release the catch on the bottom. Since the catch won't release, I cannot remove the entire clear bin either from the cyclone.Any sug

I have a Dyson DC-17 and the top of the cyclone has hair and other debris jammed in the ports. It has 6 six screws holding the parts together and I can only get access to 4 of the screws. The bottom piece appears to be removable, but I can't figure out how to remove it without damaging it. If I can get this piece off, then I have access to the other 2 screws. Can you tell me how to remove the bottom piece? Thanks in advance.

I would really like to wash the outer bag of my vacuum, but I have a problem. I can remove the outer bag from the vacuum, but the plastic 'frame' that is inside the outer bag is sewn to the bag. So what am I supposed to do about that if I want to put it in the washing machine? I have the Oreck XL Silver.

Hi, you can wash the bag. However you cannot wash the bag in the wash machine. What you will want to do is look for the screw or depending on the model, untwist the cap down on the rod next to the machine. that entire pole section will co ... Oreck XL2000 Bagged Upright Vacuum

I have a roomba 551. Have cleaned and removed every bit of dirt and hair off it bu the brush cage won't close when the larger bush is put in. The cage will only click locked on one side, and the other side keeps hitting the brush and won't close. It's almost as if the bursh itself is not even, but this doesn't seem to be the case either. I've even tried removing the yellow rings, but makes no difference. Occasionally it runs fine, but most of the time the roomba just hobbles and clacks as i

Dyson DC 14 hose has no suction, with or without brush attachments. Hot air shoots out from the base of the canister when I try to use the hose. I cleaned the top filter, but can't figure out how to remove the hepa filter to clean it without destroying the case. It looks like it might take three hands to insert pennies and "flip" the case open as is suggested on a youtube video for a different model. Would this even help, assuming I could get the thing open?

Hi. We've got a Dyson DC17 "Animal". It's clogged, and we are unable to separate the purple cyclone cap from the main cyclone body to get to the problem. We've heard of 4 torx screws that take some interesting tactics to access. I've been through this thing with a flashlight, and torx tools for a protracted period, and even after removing the torx screws was unable to ultimately separate the two pieces (main body from purple cap assembly). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx -

I want to open a Hoover S3825 Elite Cyclonic Vacuum to see if I can repair or replace the cord reel assembly. Currently the reel slowly draws the cord back into the canister once it is pulled out. The front screws are under the front caster wheels and I think I need to take a screwdriver and pry off the little cylinder wheel to get to them by rotating
