Kirby g 5 head bounces when vacuuming and tech drive is engaged, does not do this everytime

Answers :

First change the belt, even if it is not broken. also make sure that the height adjustment is raised up high enough, the higher the better ( when adjusting a vacuum you want the tips of the brush roller touching the tips of the carpet fibers ) also the same problem could occur on an area rug or any place the carpet is not securely held down ( the carpet can lift up and get sucked up into the vacuum )

I have a kirby vacuum model G7D when engaging the tech drive, the machine zips forward to fast, the main suction mech rears up and won't stay on the floor. A technician replaced the nutural drive assy. Could he have caused some mechanical malfunction to occur??

We have a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner, model Core 7. There is a switch that turns on and off the brush drive. This operates via a cam with a bearing putting pressure on the final drive belt to engage the brush head. My brush head is not turning and with the lever set to engage the drive there is still considerable slack in the final drive belt. There appears to be only a bearing deflecting the belt, should there be a pully or other device mounted on this bearing? There is so much slack a

Yes, there should have been a white plastic sprocket on top of the bearing - in its channel the belt would sit. Unfortunately no parts are available for this unit that can be bought retail - only available by order to dealer repair shops.\012\012\012 ... Hoover Vacuums

I have a Series G Kirby Model G7D. The other day when I was vacuuming all of a sudden the TechDrive (Power Drive Assist N/D) pedal fell off. I see the hole that it goes into but when I put it in it's loose and falls out and doesn't control the power drive anymore. When I shook the vacuum I heard something rattling around inside the vacuum head. So I unscrewed the bottom and looked inside and found a small metal part labeled K3 on one side and T on the other side. It looks like it would fit

The TechDrive Pedal on my Kirby G6 fell out of the back of my vacuum cleaner. I removed the screws from the metal plate one the bottom to try to see if something had come a loose. Can you send me a diagram so I can put it back together or tell me where I can get a service manual. The only part I am having trouble with is the metal piece inside that engages the power drive. Thank you.

I have a Kirby G5 vacuum that when light pressure is put on the handle it moves forward but in a jerky movement. Like the drive is engaging and disengaging. If you keep forward pressure on the handle the jerkiness does not happen. Is there an adjustment to correct this.

I hope adjusting position of the position of the "pivot spring assembly" will help. but you may have to disassemble entire slide assembly to clean it up if it still does not work smoothly. See instructions ... Kirby G5 Bagged Upright Vacuum

G-5 Kirby self-propel works intermitently. The handle must be jiggled until it engages forward. The same for reverse. Once underway it will continue indefinitely until the need to change direction. Jiggle go forward, jiggle go in reverse. It seems as though it helps to push the handle at an angle to the left depressing the switch on the left side at the base of the vacuum head.

Sounds like a loose wire, the wire is connected to the handle, you may be able to fix this yourself but be careful you can void the warranty by doing it your self. (most people make the problem worse) remember your kirby has a lifetime warranty (limi ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

Hi, I have a canister Kenmore vacuum with power head. Everytime I use it, it smells sour. Its strong and like FEET with bad odor. My old Kenmore did the same thing but I used it anyway...because the power was great. We don't have feet problems or pets. The carpeting was new when we bought this vacuum.

Moisture/humidity mixed with organic dust (like sloughed skin cells) can cause the smell you describe in vacuums. I recommend that you purchase scented granules that are placed inside of the vacuum bag. Do not buy Carpet Fresh because the fine powd ... Kenmore 23612 Progressive PowerMate Bagged Canister Vacuum

My Generation 3 Kirby Vacuum is giving off a burnt rubber smell when I vacuum. I have tried to raise the height of the head but it still happens. Can you tell me what could be causing rubber to burn? What needs to be fixed?

The belt driving the brush roller in the power head is slipping. It is really just a big thick rubber band. Where it wears out it slips and burns due to friction. Look at the bottom of the power head. There is a cover plate held with 2 to ... Kirby Generation 3 Bagged Upright Vacuum

Powerhead woes Drive belt for power head beater brush on Hoover S3755 keeps jumping off drive motor shaft when vacuuming low pile carpets like oriental rugs unless minimal suction is used. Any tricks to keeping the belt in place other than this?
