Hello, I have an Electrolux vacuum. In desperation, I vacuumed up some water and my machine stopped. I am hesitant to take the machine to a repair place for fear that if it is a simple repair they will not be honest. Can anyone give me advice on whether this is a problem that requires a new motor or major repair? Thank you!
Although it's never to be recommended, it is sometimes possible to vacuum up a little water without doing significant damage. However, the fact that your machine then stopped suggests that the electrics got wet. That may or may not have caused expens ... Vacuums

I have an electrolux genesis upright vacuum that I bought used about 8 years ago. It has been A great vacuum the best I ever had. I thought the belt had come off so I took it in for repair. They called today and said that the brush rotor motor was bad and it would be around 148.00 dollars to repair. My question is could I buy the part and have my husband replace it or would it be too complicated. Can you still buy an electrolux vacuum comparable to this one and how much are they. I love this vac
VACUUM REPAIR I have a Hoover Savvy upright, windtunnel, bag/bagless vacuum (model U8150-900). The Handle Release Foot Pedal - Part #38434026 broke soon after purchase but I finally found a source to replace this item. The problem is that now that I have the repair part I cannot figure out how to remove the old pedal and install the new one. The housing appears to be one piece of solid plastic. Any ideas, PLEASE! I have a Kirby G4 Vacuum Cleaner - MOdel G4 D. I have never had any problems or repairs done to it in the past ten plus years that I've had it. This is an upright vacuum. I was vacuuming the carpet floor and was not having any trouble at all. I switched the vacuum off and moved it into a different room. When I tried to turn on the vacuum, it would not turn on. I checked with different outlets, used both front attachment and hose attachment. Checked the front part of the motor/ spiral case. This

The Panasonic MC-V7515 has two belts. The local vacuum repair guy says he only has a part number for the drive belt, which is UB-9. How do I find a replacement for the other belt, the one which directly drives the beater bars? By the way, this vacuum has great suction, but otherwise is far inferior to my previous Panasonic vacuums. The cheaper models aren't a good buy--stick with the more expensive models.

My hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner's motor spindle keeps overheating. Because of the high temperature, it keeps burning through belts (the big, wide ones). I have taken it in to the vacuum repair shop about three times now, and the problem has never been fixed. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this or should I just buy a new vacuum?

I pulled the side HEPA filter and could see a fine coating of graphite like dust. Took it to a vacuum repair shop. They said the brushes were going and thus the motor was shot. My Kenmore 35922 works well on floors, but it recently became very difficult to push on carpet. The brush spins and a local vacuum repair guy wouldn't solve my problem since the vacuum worked fine on his very flat, commercial carpet. What can I do to get my easy to push vacuum back?
Hi dalee196,There are three common reasons why vacuum cleaners are getting hard to push.1. Base is dirty - The base needs to be clean from dirt and tar.2. Height is too low - You might want to consider adjusting th ... Vacuums
I have an Electrolux Oxygen 3 vacuum I purchased rebuilt. After 1 month the power stopped working. I took it into Electrolux Authorized repair dealer, which was a horrible experience. When we received it back it was clearly not as powerful as before. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem may be? I would rather fix it myself than take it back to them. The next repair center is too far away. I am pretty good with fixing things, just needs some guidance. I think the repair center rep

DT 1300 As I am vacuuming the motor seems to fade in and out and sometimes stops running for a few seconds and then resumes. If I move the hose a bit near the vacuum end, it runs smoothly again. Does this sounds as if there might be a short in the motor? Would this be something I can fix myself or does the vacuum need to go in for repairs.

My Hoover Windtunnel Ultra U6425-900 began shutting off after a few minutes of vacuuming. The time interval became shorter and shorter. If I leave it sit a while, it will start again. I have an old Hoover vacuum model # U5035-930. The belt broke and I tried replacing the belt myself. I couldn't stretch the belt to attach it to the motor pully. It was belt # 38525-027 M6. Which I got from the previous owner. I took it to a vacuum repair place and he replaced it with belt # 38528-027 J4. I cannot find this belt anywhere.
My powerhead on my EXL Tri-Star goes on then shuts off. When youturn it upside downit runs, then back on the floor it stops. I have a power drive baggless vacuum cleaner...it runs well, but suddenly it seems to have lost most of the suction coming through the hose and floor area. When I remove the dirt container, the suction below it seems strong. I have had it to repair twice--they have tuned it up and replaced all filters and belt. It still does not pick up well when I vacuum or use the hose. Can you help ?

Kirby Vacuum Hi Bruce, In my opinion, yes the Kirby would be worth it, as long as you are not replacing the motor. The switch would be the most expensive part besides the motor that would need to be replaced. The switch costs USD 49.99, the cord is roughly $39.99, and the carbon brushes are $29.99. I can easily walk you through any of these repairs should you need help. Kirby's are great vacuum cleaners, that usually last 30+ years. Brand new these machines sell in the US for $1600 or more,
