Having problems with your AEG Vacuums ?

Vacume Overheating My vacum is overheating and then shuts down for awhile but doesn't start again untill the vacum has cooled down.. Are there any heat-relays or something like that that could cause the problem ?

Answers :

There will be a filter between the cylinder/bag and the engine. If your vacuum has a HEPA filter there will be one on the other side of the engine. Remove both of these and clean them out with water, allow to dry and replace.

Over heating? My 10 gallon 4HP shop vac has started shutting off after about 30 sec. after I turn it on to use. It smells real hot after I shut it off. I have changed the filter and the bag, which did not solve the problem. Any suggestions on what the problem could be? I noticed the Roomba's brushes were not sweeping, or turning so they could sweep. There was a new sound coming from the machine, the sound of grinding nylon! Upon inspection, I determined the problem to be a heat melted gear support hole. The hole was no longer round but oblong. You could see a ridge of plastic around this hole. So melting I believe was the culprit. The gear that uses that hole was then able to tilt to one side, thereby allowing the gear to disengage from the drive train. I

I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). The vacuum has started making a much louder noise. like something is coming apart or is stuck/clogged. Noticed the fan type blade has several cracks, some bigger than others. could this be the problem?

Yes, this is very likely. The fan is made of plastic, because a metal fan would be so heavy that it would make the motor burn out unnecessarily fast. Sucking up things like loose change, pebbles, screws, etc. can crack the fan, and unfortunately th ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum

Dyson vacuum I have a DC07 vaccuum. The problem I am having is that the front does not want to stay down as I vaccuum and I continuously have to keep stepping on the front to make it go back down to the floor. It seems as though there is either not enough weight in the front or possibly the unit just has to be broken in so that there is not so much resistance between the handle and the front of the vaccuum. Could there be something I did not remove or is this typical on these vaccuums?
