Bissell Proheat Clearview - Belt and pump keep melting

\015 I just replaced the belt and cog belt on my cleaner and as soon as I put everything back together again and started it up, the brushes would not spin, the belt melted and the metal cog on the end of the pump assembly melted out again. I can't for the life of me figure out why it's just burned out a second pump and belt in two days. Anyone have any ideas?\015

Answers :

Is the brush roll turning freely? Is there something binding the pump pulley or belt casuing it to not turn? Was the replacement pump a new one? If you replace these parts again, after doing so, try turning the pump pulley by hand to see if it will turn the brush roll easlly, if it doesn't then there is a problem.

Hi my proheat bissell 7901 stopped pumping water to the floor, but it pumps water from the hand hose. I read the manual and followed how to check belt and the flat belt on right side of shampooer is fine and I turned on and it turns and so do the brushes at the bottom of the machine. I was reading online and I guess there's two belts on this machine? where can I find the other belt to see if it needs replacing. I guess it's a ribbed belt? that is the water pump belt?

Replacement parts... I've got a 3594 Bissell and the belt has come completely off. In the process of breaking, it bent the metal guide inside the motor housing and melted the plastic that holds the guide and keeps the belt inline with the roller. I've got it running again by using a screw I filed all the threads off of, but it only works for 10 minutes at a time before breaking another belt. This process is getting expensive, as it usually takes 30 minutes to completely vacuum the house. Is ther
