Replacement parts... I've got a 3594 Bissell and the belt has come completely off. In the process of breaking, it bent the metal guide inside the motor housing and melted the plastic that holds the guide and keeps the belt inline with the roller. I've got it running again by using a screw I filed all the threads off of, but it only works for 10 minutes at a time before breaking another belt. This process is getting expensive, as it usually takes 30 minutes to completely vacuum the house. Is ther

Bissell 6595 problems with roller brush. I've had this happen with two of the same model. Each one didn't last more than seven months! First, it became loud when vacuuming, then there was a burning smell. When you try to replace the belt, you see that won't do any good because the fitted end of the brush is melted. The housing part the roller brush fits into is melted too. There's no place for the roller brush to fit into. I tried to upload pics, because I don't see how replacing the roller brus

The brush roller stops turning and I can smell the belt burning, then it will catch and start working normal. I looked under the plate to check the belts and they looked okay and no hang ups of string or anything. The only thing that seemed weird was that the smaller belt that actually attaches and turns the roller is a bit loose. The larger belt is tight but looks like its the one that is burning and causing the smell.

Better to replace both belts the smaller one is stretched out thats whyits slipping ,be sure to clean the old rubber off the motor shaft before replacing the belts.it will cause the new belts to run unevevly and go bad before their time ... My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

We own a dirt devil model 088600, and are experiencing a problem with the belt wearing away a section between where the belt connects to the brushes and the motor. There is a lot of plastic/rubber residue coming out from the vacuum. We have tried new belts only to find the same problem occurs. I noticed that the source of the dust is coming from the section between the brushes and motor, where there appears to be a section that is misshapen and melted. I have a Eureka 4800 series the Boss upright with a bag and Hepa filter. I love it! Stuck Roller Same problem here. I think in our case, the accumulation of hair and the increasing resistance the hair created over time caused the hair to start melting, and eventually the end cap was stuck to the roller, which prevented the roller from turning. I cleaned out the melted hair(?) as best I could, but I think I need to order a new roller and end caps.
