Having problems with your Bissell 6595 Lift Off Bagless Upright Vacuum ?

6595-1 electrical connectors melted down

\015 We had the same problem with our Bissell Model #6595-1. The connector at the base of the lift-off was burnt and melted the male/famale electrical connectors. After reading some of these posts I contacted Bissell via phone and they told to cut the entire length of cord from our unit and mail it to them (they're paying for shipping). They are going to send us a refurbished unit of the same model. I'm adding Bissell to my list of companies that provide top of the line customer service, my 1st company would be COSTCO where I actually bought this vacuum. Thanks everyone for posting your CS experiences.\015

Replacement motor I purchase a replacement motor for a F5897-900 Hoover SteamVa Motor part # 43576197 or 27242051. The replacement motor has three electrical connectors + ground were as the orginal has two electrical connectors + ground. Do I ingnore the the thrid connector and hook up the wires to the same connectors as the orginal or do I have to do some rewiring.

The manual only show one wire from the motor going to the switch, the other going to the cord, then the ground wire. I would wire it the way your old motor was, could be that some models maybe were 2 speed and the other wire would be used for that. ... Vacuums

Wiring Two wires (black and red) connected to the slider on/off switch have overheated and melted away the 90degree connectors. Will replacing just the connectors solve the problem or is it more complicated, such as a resistor, capacitor, etc.?

This is easy and hard. If only two wires connect to the switch, cleaning up the connectors and replacing damaged items should fix it. Don't do anything unless the unit is unplugged. Try this first: connect the two wires together and tape them up. ... Electrolux EL5010A Bagged Upright Vacuum

I just purchased and electric percolator. I plug it in to see if it worked. It percolated but never shut off. The electric cord and pot look brand new. On the bottom it is stamped US patent 1999329 108-115 volts 425 watts. Percolator No 201. It says there is a fuse inside. Could this be the problem? I haven't used and electric percolator and do no t know what to expect.

The fuse would not be the problem as it would cause the percolator to not work at all.The patent expired in 2007 and wasn't renewed so the company is likely out of business meaning no parts. Is there a removable panel somewhere? If there is,would you o ... Vacuums

The handle for my Eureka 5993 AVZ was getting very hot when used. Finally, the wires around the switch melted and now the vacuum will not work. What is wrong? Is the switch bad? The wires only melted in the immediate vicinity of the three-prong switch. Nothing else appears to be wrong; the vacuum worked fine when it was running - except for the handle getting hot. It won't turn on. I have partially disassembled it and have continuity between the power cord (wide blade) and one of the connectors where the switch assembly snaps in. Also, switch is working fine. There is continuity across it, then no continuity across its connectors when the switch is pressed. Not sure what to try next.

I noticed the Roomba's brushes were not sweeping, or turning so they could sweep. There was a new sound coming from the machine, the sound of grinding nylon! Upon inspection, I determined the problem to be a heat melted gear support hole. The hole was no longer round but oblong. You could see a ridge of plastic around this hole. So melting I believe was the culprit. The gear that uses that hole was then able to tilt to one side, thereby allowing the gear to disengage from the drive train. I

Stuck Roller Same problem here. I think in our case, the accumulation of hair and the increasing resistance the hair created over time caused the hair to start melting, and eventually the end cap was stuck to the roller, which prevented the roller from turning. I cleaned out the melted hair(?) as best I could, but I think I need to order a new roller and end caps.
