Changing the brush

\015 I need instructions on how to remove and replace the brush. I have lost my manual\015

Answers :

\015\012To replace the Brush Belt:

You will need a Phillips head screwdriver.

1. Turn the machine OFF and unplug from the wall outlet.

2. Step on the release pedal to lay the handle down on the floor.

3. Remove the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle and set them aside.

4. Turn the machine over to expose the brush.

5. Look for the red retainers, which hold the black brush arms and gear-type brush belt in place. Unscrew the two Phillips head screws. Set these parts aside.

6. Loop the replacement brush roll belt around the brush end and the red pulley with the ridges.

7. Alternate holding each brush arm in place while replacing the red retainers.

8. Replace the Phillips head screws and turn until snug.

9. Turn the machine right side up to replace the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle.

I contacted a service agent who told me that it was not possible to change the Carbon Brushes brushes on this model and they would need to change the Motor Unit.. To me this sounds very unlikely. Two questions please. Is it possible to change the Carbon Brushes and how do I get the cabinet apart which looks very difficult. I am well qualified electrically to do this job. Regards James Beech

Hello can you help me please? I have a Kirby G4 vacuum cleaner, It did work ok until it started to give off burning smell and lots of sparks from the brushes. I have changed these brushes, the motor still rotates but it still gives off sparks and burning smell. Do i have to change the motor as well? Can you help please? Thankyou Martin

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together.
