Why wont the brushes spin? I have had this machine for about 3 years and it has always worked great, tonight the brushes will not spin at all, it still sprays and sucks up the water. We took the brushes off and were able to spin them by hand


In this machine there is no belt. The brushes actually spin by vacuum and in the turbine assembly there is a small wheel bearign which rusts out. Suction Problem I just borrowed the Hoover Steam Vac Deluxe w/ 5 brush agitator from my neighbor and it worked ok for the first few minutes, although the suction would stop and go. My Kirby shampooer - G4 - hardly used any water from the tank and no suds at all. Pet hair did blow out of the small slotted holes in the tray as I moved the shampooer back and forth, but the carpet was basically dry. Water is not being discharged. I have filled the reservoir that holds the carpet cleaner fluid And I have filled the water container. I know how to use the cleaner, it has always worked, But now, no water is being discharged to the carpet. I turn it on, squeeze the trigger, but nothing comes out. My brushes on my hoover streamvac will not rotate. I removed and cleaned assuring that the filter was also cleaned. The only different thing I have done is to insert the upholstery attachment and removed it after use (didn't work so well) suction seemed weak.
