Having problems with your Bissell Vacuums ?

Model # 5770 the brush motor runs and shuts down after a few seconds...Turn unit off and the brush again will run for a second or two...If I don't turn unit off brush will not start up..Could it be the printed board..the motor brushes..or the wiring that goes from the printed board to the main motor...Thank you

Answers :

Seems like your unit goes into failsafe because it detects something wrong. Well you should check the brushes and replace them if they are worn out. Also check the wiring for shorts etc, becaue the unit maybe tripping due to an overload. The printed board seems fine though.

I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle. When I remove the rug nozzle and detach the belt from the motor fan shaft the motor starts when I depress the nozzle switch and the power switch . Seems like the brushes in the motor are worn out. I do not have a manual for this unit. Can you assist me as to what newer unit is this compatible to and the problem I'm having at present??

Bad Motor? I have an upright Electrolux Prolux Heavy Duty "Appareil Industriel" and the motor does not seem to be working and turning the brush. Is there a trip switch somewhere to try and reset the motor? I have taken the plastic cover off on the base of the unit and cleaned it well, but can't seem to get the motor to start again.

Roomba My Scheduler started making a "grinding" noise every now and then until one day it just started grinding and then stopped (I could restart the unit, however it repeated the grinding and stopping). I have checked the wheels and all of the gears appear to be in good order. I have a hunch the brush motor may be stripped. Any opinions? Thanks: RAnderson

I Have a kenmore 116.23612300 canister vacuum which will not start. I have power everywhere but nothing going to the black wire to the motor. Seems to stop at the pcb asm, #KC86WBZRZ000 . Nothing from there to the black motor wire. White wire to motor has continuity everywhere it should. Ruled out just about everything but the PC board. What does it do exactly?

Not exactly a blow gun. Convertible blower/vac - Sears Craftsman. Wire broke off ONE brush in the motor. Paid about $90 for the vac - Sears lists the WHOLE motor as one part - $88. Have requested brushes (they are provided with a lot of my 'cheap' Harbor Freight tools) but no go. Just get the canned reply - buy the whole motor. Actually got it working again... CAREFULLY drilled and tapped a 4-40 screw into the brush and soldered the lead to that... Always a way, isn't there?

I have a nearly 9 year old Electrolux Excellio Z5228 vacuum cleaner. It has recently started cutting out during operation. Hello can you help me please? I have a Kirby G4 vacuum cleaner, It did work ok until it started to give off burning smell and lots of sparks from the brushes. I have changed these brushes, the motor still rotates but it still gives off sparks and burning smell. Do i have to change the motor as well? Can you help please? Thankyou Martin

Some debris, even sand or dirt, probably got into the motor, causing damage to the armature. If this is the case, you will need to replace the motor. The burning smell from the motor is generally a sure sign of a bad motor. ... Kirby G4 Bagged Upright Vacuum

I have a Eureka Central Vac CV1601b. The motor does not stop unless the Unit is unplug from the electrical outlet.
