I have used my Steam Vac for carpeting, but until today, had never tried cleaning upholstery with the spin-scrub brush. I spent a miserable afternoon trying to control the spray, which seemed to go everywhere AROUND the furniture, but not ON the furniture! Additionally, I never did get the water into the recovery tank, despite many attempts to connect and re-connect the hoses and recovery tank/lid.

I can sympathize. My vac came with two handheld attachments. I have better luck with the handheld attachment that doesn't have the spin-scrub pads. Bissell will spray water when set to water rinse, but as soon as it is set to light, normal, or heavy cleaning, there is no spray. I have tried priming but to no avail. I put plain water in the solution tank to test without ay success. It is like it loses it's prime whenever you try to use a solution mix. Once you set it back to water rinse only and go through the priming steps, it is OK. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vacuum smells I have a 6 year old rainbow vacuum model E and it smells terrible everytime I use it. Probably because often times i don't remove the water basin after vacuuming and just let it sit. It's my own fault however now I don't know what to do to get rid of this terrible smell. I've water cleaned the hepa filter, not able to remove the separator screw to clean. Can you give me some suggestions?

In addition to vinegar, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is also an excellent remedy for many odour problems. Try generously sprinkling baking soda on a rug you wish to clean, and afterwards, vacuum up the spot. Rugs, and dirt ... Vacuums

I have a Craftsman wet dry vac with blower capability (22 L). While I was using it to **** up water, the water came out of the blower hose. Now I can't get it to work as a vacuum. What can I do to fix this problem? Is there a toggle switch somewhere that allows me to choose vacuum or blower? Also, will the vacuum still work without the filter nut attached to the plate? Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

My kids were in charge of the Rainbow, but they moved out. My husband surprised me by cleaning a dirty rug. Neither of us know how to use the Rainbow, but I at least know that you're supposed to use water. Will it damage my Rainbow that he did not use any water when he vacuumed?

Your Rainbow might have been damaged. It would be advisable to take the machine to a shop and have them do a cleaning on it. The water is the filter, and there is a separator between the water and the motor. The separator only prevents the water f ... Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum

When using the floor configuration, I can't get the trigger to cause a spray of either water or cleaner. When using the tool configuration and the hand device with brushes etc, the spray works well with the hand trigger.

The trigger on the handle for tthe floor configuration has become loose or broken. When you squeeze it, the action pulls a rod that runs down the length of the shaft and goes into the base and allows the water to spray. You need to check and make sur ... Using a Hoover Steamvac to clean my carpets. It works fine in some areas, but others it makes a clicking noise and stops sucking water. I have a bissell quickwash 1950-e. I bought it Jan. 2006, and have only used it 8-10 times, I live in a very hard water area, so I though if I put some vinegar in with the cleaning solution it would get rid of any hard water deposits, unfortunatly the solution went lumpy in the tank and stoped spraying out water, I have opened it, hose clean, sprayer not blocked, x at bottom of water container when depresed water trickles out, component that opens the x when water container placed, also ran wate

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet

Check that the suction cone is not blocked. Check that the filter or hose to the bladder isn't blocked as well. ... Vacuums

We have a Bissell Proheat 2X (model 8920). The problem we are having is when water/soap is initially released (all settings) it continues to leak out the front water spray nozzles unit the water containers are empty. The vacuum works but can't keep up with the continuous water leaking out. Do you have any idea what is sticking open to allow the continued release of water when the machine is running? Thanks Rick
