Having problems with your Bissell Vacuums ?

Vacuum Cleaner When I vacuum it doesn't pick up; in fact it leaves hair and debris behind while pushing vacuum forward. Is this a belt problem?

Answers :

Yes it is , the belt has to be replaced yearly even if it isn't broken because it gets too stretched out.
Greetings from GoVacuum,
\015\012
\015\012It seems like you may have a belt problem. The best way to see if your belt is broken, is to turn the vacuum cleaner on and turn it upside down, and see of the brush roller is spinning while the vacuum is running.
\015\012
\015\012If the brushes are NOT spinning, you will need to replace your belt. If you would like to email me with the make and model number (model numbers are located on the back, or the bottom of the vacuum) I would be happy to walk you through the belt change. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for fixing and selling vacuum cleaners.
\015\012
\015\012I hope this helps you.

Greetings - my Dyson DC41 animal vacuum seems to be having problems with the ball - the right side of the ball if you were to be standing behind the machine seems like it's tightening as it rolls forward, as it tightens its harder to push the machine forward. Any thoughts, any fix it ideas? Thank you.

Lately, my Kirby Ultimate G has been acting funny. When I push it forward, it's fine, but when I pull it backward on the carpet, the light on the front flickers and the power flutters off an on. I thought it might be the rollers, so tonight I turned the machine over and pulled out the hair that was wrapped around the roller. However, that did not fix the problem. I should probably backtrack a little bit. In the past, I have had problems with the vacuum running over its own power cord.

The cord will need to be replaced with a cord made for the machine, as it has a non-standard plug. The cord cover is held in place with a # 20 Torx screw. Remove the screw and push the cover gently from behind to unlatch it. The handle must also be r ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

Dc07 problem I have a dc07 cyclonic vaccum and like this model, however, for some reason,it has been very dificult to push and pull for the past month or so. i have completely cleaned the brush assembly, cleared any obstructions in the hoses, and, cleaned the filter.I also checked the belt tension, wich i thought was fine but to no avail.Be advised that the brush assembly is spinning and suction is excellent. The belt on my vacuum cleaner model 6596 bissel powerforce bagless turbo keeps breaking. As soon as I put on a new belt and start it up the belt snaps. It is the durabelt meant for this vacuum model. Also, my son has been having the same problem with his. He has the same model and same belt. This problem is occurring even after a thourough cleaning.

I would guess you aren't centering the belt correctly, thus it's edge is caught between the brush and another solid object, causing the breakage.\015\012When you get the belt on the the brush and the brush back in place, turn the brush a few ti ... Bissell 6596 Bagless Upright Vacuum

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner--trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting --is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up --unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum... Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. It seems

Not sure what you mean when you refer to a "microchip" but maybe it is a sensor that works with the belt.\015\012Anyway, if you Google the make and model number of your vacuum you can probably get an exploded view or owners manual that might indicate ... Vacuums

I have a Zanussi 1700W bagless upright vacuum cleaner which keeps cutting out after about 5/10 mins use. I had to replace the rubber drive belt which snapped not long after purchasing and it was fine for a while, but now its just keeps cutting out after a small amount of use. Nothing wrong with belt which is still intact so we don't know what the problem is. It's a great cleaner otherwise - but it's driving us mad!! Please help!

Have Dyson DC 14. When tilt to vacuum, the handle and coiled hose comes away from the unit. The problem started when the little purple ridged curved part on front of vacuum cleaner right below handle came loose and a spring fell out from somewhere--don't know where. I pushed on the purple ridge part and it snapped back on. Now, can't get it loose again, don't know where the spring goes, and handle still comes loose from vacuum.

I'm not positive whether or not this is the wand handle because there are several versions of the DC14. However the device the locks and unlocks the wand in place is pretty similar between all the versions. The first picture is the wand re ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner's motor spindle keeps overheating. Because of the high temperature, it keeps burning through belts (the big, wide ones). I have owned my kirby sentria for 2.5 years and have had no problems until now. The vacuum still works but I cannot lower it all the way down or the light will turn off and it will start to smell like something is burning inside. I use it on the 2nd or 3rd setting with no problem. I have changed the belt and cleaned all the hair and strings that were on the roller but it still has this problem.

Smell/suction I have a Eureka Altima Model 2991 Type AVZ. I have suction when I use the power paw and attachments. I have all hoses clear. I also have a burning smell to go with it after about 30 seconds. I've never had a problem with this vacuum cleaner before.

Folks, My wife and I own a three-year-old Hoover U6434-900 self-propelled "Wind Tunnel" upright vacuum cleaner. The problem is that, even on the highest setting (front-end as high as possible), it gets bogged-down in even shallow pile carpet to the point that the brush stops. I've cleaned the machine thoroughly, pulling hair, thread, dental floss and such from the brush (and everywhere else), including unscrewing the brush end caps and pulling out the cat hair mats which formed in there.

I have an old Progressive vacuum cleaner that says "Hepa Filter" and "Whisper Belt". Not sure what the model # is. I have a self propelled Royal Dirt Devil vacuum model number 087900 and it goes backward fine but forward has to be pushed so hard it's impossible. Is this a switch? Do you know about how much the part would cost and can it be done by a beginner. We fix a lot of things ourselves but we aren't mechanics by no means. We put a brand new belt on it. I don't think it can be put on backwards and brush turns fine. Where is the switch? Use layman's terms.

You might try a new belt and/or brush roll. The brush roll is what helps pull a vacuum forward, the power drive helps, but if the brush isn't turning like it should, then it will hinder forward motion. The belt may look ok, but they stretch to the ... Vacuums

I've had my Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner now for approximately 9 months and been very happy with my purchase. However, It is used sparingly maybe twice a week at the very most. The problem is when I try to use the item on my carpet, you have to push really hard to get it to move. It's as though the suction power is far to strong. It certainly doesn't glide as I think it should. It still picks up as usual but I cannot imagine that having to 'force' the machine to move is the normal operating procedu
