When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. If you have another belt for this vacuum, please put it on and see if the noise stops. If it does ... Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel Cyclonic Bagless UprightVacuum

I bought a used vacuum seal machine (hobart model ht-120) it does excellent vacuum but it doesnt seal correctly all the time. it seems like there is something wrong with the valve that activates the bar that goes up and makes pressure and heats the bag for complete sealing. The heating is perfect but what is not working is what make the bar go up and down.

I just bought the LG200R vacuum. It is working wonderfully but i have only had it a week. I have already had to clean the agitator but this is due to my extremely long hair and apparently i shed a lot. I was wondering if i should be alarmed by the funny smell it leaves in the air. Its not like a burning rubber smell but more like a fresh plastic smell or sorta chemical like smell (hard to describe) and it doesn't need to be on to make this smell it seems to be permeating off the vacuum itself

When I flip the switch on my sebo x1 upright, a red light comes to the brush and bag icons. However, I cleaned out the hose and checked to make sure there is no obstruction from the brush to the hose also, or from the hose to the bag. It is clear that juice is coming to the vacuum, but there is no sign of life except the two red lights.

Thanks for contacting fixya. You should pull out the bag and reset the machine. You should take all the user replaceable items. And turn it on. You will get lot of errors. Then turn the machine off. Put back all the accessor ... Sebo Automatic X1 Bagged Upright Vacuum

I just bought a Hoover Power Drive Concept Two Electronic vacuum from the thrift shop. It only needed two belts and seems powerful. But i don't understand what the small red button on the handle marked "Release Drive" means. Thanks for any insight! Anything else i need to know about this machine? Is it a good one? Are there high-performance bags available for it?

The U6311-903 is a self propelled vacuum. The the small red button will stop the handle from moving back and forth, which makes the machine go foward and backwards. The red button disengages the self propelled feature. ... Hoover U6311-930 Power Drive Bagged Upright Vacuum

Vorwerk VK121 vacuum cleaner - smell of burning from housing enclosing motor. How do I get into the housing to inspect the motor? After tilting the bag sideways, there are two screws holding the housing visible, but there seems to be a thrid fixing inside the point where the handle shaft is attached - is the handle simply clipped in place? Thanks

Yes the handle is clipped in place and should come out when the button in front is pushed. Remove the screws you wrote about. After that the puzzle begins. At the bottom of the vacuum where the head is attached, remove the head by pressing the but ... Vacuums

We have two of these vacuums and both of them have experienced the same problems. First the floor heighth adjustment doesn't work and now neither one will pick up on either carpet or floor when in the brush/floor mode. They both seem to work with the suction hose function. We have removed the back panel to see if there was an obstruction but it was clear. We have changed the bag and the small filter (not the HEPA filter) all to no avail. What else can we do? We are desperate to use our vacu

Did you check the powerhead for obstructions? With a bend in the tube just below where the hose connects, this is a common spot for clogs. To check, detach hose and drop a coin in the hole. The vacuum leaks dust around the joint between the bag and the vacuum. I unlatched the bag, removed and emptied it, and replaced it. However, the vacuum still leaks dust around the joint and the bag keeps working loose. How can I make sure that the bag is securely latched so that it does not leak or come loose? I have no manual. Thanks.

Won't start. My son was using the vacuum & Didn't change the bag. The vacuum was making the full bag smell, but the light was't on & it didn't stop. I stopped him, changed the bag, checked the filter, closed the compartments & turned on the vacuum. Nothing happened. I checked to be sure that it was plugged in, that wasn't the problem. I've let the vacuum "rest" for several days, It still won't start. Any suggestions?

I have an Ecectrolux Epic canister vacuum. As soon as it starts sucking, the vacuum cuts off. I put a new filter and bag in, but it doesn't seem to help. I have bought new Hoover bags on two occasions. The first spares I bought were the Xxxl variety and I didn't think they fitted that well. The next spares I bought were the type g megafilt. I still feel like they do not fit that well and the suction power on the vacuum is not as good. I'm I buying the correct replacements? Clogged vacuum Rather stupidly, my boyfriend 1) were vacuuming without a bag and 2) vacuumed up a big piece of cotton from a sofa cushion. And now it's making a horrible noise and I see it vibrating where the tube connects to the machine. When you look inside there's a white thing sticking out but it looks like it's part of the vacuum. If it's a clog, how do you fix it? I tried unscrewing the tray the bag sits in but it won't budge.

You can start by taking off the bottom plate or top cover, which ever comes off, that is where the inlet starts going in and hopefully the clog is there. Could be in the hose also. Our vacuum bag was full and we keep on vacuuming. I believe some lent and hair got sucked into the vacuum motor. We've changed the bag and filters. Now the motor makes a loud noise especially when shutting off. what should we do?

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums

Need Kirby Generation 3 Vacuum cleaner manual. Vacuum is not picking up dirt from floor. Seems to have enough suction to inflate the bag, but when you check the suction under the vacuum, there seems to be extremely litle suction.

If your brush roll is turning and your bag is not overly full, then the only other thing it can be is a clog where the bag connects to the vacuum. Turn the plastic part out away from vacuum and lift off to see if you have something clogging it. It ... Kirby Generation 3 Bagged Upright Vacuum

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner--trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting --is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up --unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum... Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. My Vacuum DC-17 has just quit sucking. It has been making quite a racket since I had the belt changed at a repair shop several months ago. I was told that the belt was a new design and figured that was why it was making so much noise. it seemed to work fine, was picking up dirt and all, but today, when I started vacumming, I noticed it was not sucking air either with the belt engaged or not. My vacuum is approx. 5 years old.
