Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so. I have tried the following things: -cleaned the two sponge filters -emptied the dirt receptacle -removed the roller and cleaned it -cleaned the brushes -the belt is not ragged and does not seem floppy -checked all of the airways for clogs (including removing the wheel base) Can you help?

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. After removing hair and string I put the vacuum back together and started it up, but the noise continued,

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. Hoover Mach 6 U5198-900 vacuum roller brush won't turn. I had opened the bottom to clean hair off the roller. the belts are not broken. When I closed it and turned it on, now the roller brush won't turn. I can push and turn it by hand, but not easily. Then I noticed the brush on/off switch is turned off, but when I step on it, it won't turn on. I was thinking I let something get out of place when I opened the bottom, but can't see what.

Lately, my Kirby Ultimate G has been acting funny. When I push it forward, it's fine, but when I pull it backward on the carpet, the light on the front flickers and the power flutters off an on. I thought it might be the rollers, so tonight I turned the machine over and pulled out the hair that was wrapped around the roller. However, that did not fix the problem. I should probably backtrack a little bit. In the past, I have had problems with the vacuum running over its own power cord.
The cord will need to be replaced with a cord made for the machine, as it has a non-standard plug. The cord cover is held in place with a # 20 Torx screw. Remove the screw and push the cover gently from behind to unlatch it. The handle must also be r ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum
No suction I have the central vac type. It has no suction at the can. I pulled the hose going to the walls and tested there...and nothing. Dirt Devil bagless upright. sucks up dirt in the front and spits it out in the back. I have taken it apart to check for visible clogs in hoses and checked belt and rollers all of which are fine. what next?

Hello, I got a used Kirby Sentria. When I run the vaccum and push and pull on the handle, I can hearing a friction type noise. I got up close to the vaccum and it is not the wheels or roller. It is coming from the base of the handle. It's like it is pushing on something on the vaccum body and is creating the noise. Maybe transmission? Is this normal, or is it something I should be concerned about? Thanks for your help!
