I have the Janome 6600 P. Beginning a seam the thread knotted and the machine made noise and needle would not move either up or down. I manually moved the needle using the handwheel and cut away the knotted thread. I began sewing again but instead of starting at the edge began about a half inch down, forward stitched, reversed to lock threads and problem repeated and received the message to "Stop for safety purposes". Did that. Referred to the manual, tried manual recommendation. Did not work. I

Hi, I have a Sebo X4 which is almost 3 years old. I haven't had any problems with it until the last couple of days when I notice a slight screeching noise when in upright position, coming from the roller mechanism area. If I slightly push the sebo forwards it gets worse, if I tip it back it stops. If I take the roller out and switch on, there is no noise. I have always been careful not to tip the machine forwards when using the hose, but I recently lent it to a friend whose hoover had broken do

I've seen the same problem in one of these we had in for repair. The pcb in the handle is involved with controlling the roller motor. The problem is with the motor. In my view, this machine is a triumph of design over practicality... The motor is loc ... Vacuums

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. After removing hair and string I put the vacuum back together and started it up, but the noise continued,

My Dyson DC 24's beater bar switch didn't actuate and the beater bar didn't turn. When I brought it to a certified serviceman he told me that a wire interferred with the switch and all he had to do was move the wire out of the way of the switch. At the time the machine was under warrantee and it didn't cost me anything. Now however, the machine is out of warrantee and the problem has returned. Does anyone know how to access the switch and move the wire out of the way?

Makes a loud noise like a grinding noise then smokes comes out and it smells like burning rubber? When I take the (rod) brush off with the belt then run the vacuum there is no more noise? Please help me thank you

Your belt is worn and stretched and so it is slipping on the motor drive shaft. That is why it is noisy and smells like burning rubber. You simply need to replace the belt. You can get replacement belts here: ... Vacuums

When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. If you have another belt for this vacuum, please put it on and see if the noise stops. If it does ... Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel Cyclonic Bagless UprightVacuum
