We have a new hoover bagless that is a couple months old. The pet hair attachment stopped working. I disassembled it found lots of hair wound around the various rollers and removed - painstakingly thorough i might add. Problem is the brush still wont spin and now the belt seems loose - I think I put it all back together correctly but wondering if there is a trick to this?

Without the model number, I can't look it up, but this has a 1 years warranty on it, maybe take it to a warranty shop. Just take proof of purchase, model and serial numbers. ... Vacuums

I replaced the belt on my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum and the brush roller rubs and makes a very loud noise when turned on. I have gone exactly by the manual instructions and made sure the belt and end caps were on correctly, but the bristles still rub the back and it makes a very loud noise. Without the brush roller in the vacuum, it sounds and runs normal. What could the problem be?

Hoover WindTunnel S3765. The motor spins and the belt turns when I turn the brushes on, and the brushes will spin. The problem is that when I do this on carpet, the brushes stop spinning. As soon as I pull the "head" off the carpet, the brushes spin again. It's almost as if the vacuum suction is too great. I took the head apart and watched the motor turn the metal spindle that the belt rests on, and the belt turns as well.

Hello, I have a Riccar 8000. The belt works, the bar spins, and it will **** things up. However, it will not pick up threads and dog hair or anything from the carpeting. Mu husband took the bottom off and there were a couple of small parts on the plate. We have no idea where they belong. Could not see them in the photos in the manual. Could it possibly need a new roller? Any help would be most welcome. Thank you! Mary Simon

Poor suction The actual sweeper seems to work ok, but the hose attachment has some suction but not enough to pick up things I think it should and not enough to make the power brush spin. I've checked everywhere I can for clogs, but I can't see anything. And there doesn't seem to be any way to check to hose itself for clogs. I've cleaned out the container and the filters, but there's still a problem.

Check the inlet down by the brush roll, make sure it is open, if it is then the hose itself must have a clog. If the hose comes off, drop something like a marble in one end and see it it comes out the other end, if it doesn't then you have a clog. ... Hoover windtunnel t series belt is loose- roller brush doesnt turn. Its brand new belt is slipping. we bough new belts and putthem on same problem. Can not find solutio in manual. My eureka 5902 4D bagless uprights roller brush stopped spinning. The belt is ok. This model has a sliding switch for roller speed. The brush should spin when you release the handle via the foot release. Bad brush motor or is there a fuse involved?

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. Bissell 6595 problems with roller brush. I've had this happen with two of the same model. Each one didn't last more than seven months! First, it became loud when vacuuming, then there was a burning smell. When you try to replace the belt, you see that won't do any good because the fitted end of the brush is melted. The housing part the roller brush fits into is melted too. There's no place for the roller brush to fit into. I tried to upload pics, because I don't see how replacing the roller brus

My bissell model 18Z6 has developed a loud noise and vibration when the brush is running. I have removed the brush assy and cleaned all the hair, etc but still the noise. I ran the brush motor with the belt disconnected and all seemed ok, but of course there was no load on the motor. I suspect a problem with the brush assy bearings or axle or both but I hate to just throw parts at the problem. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The brush roller stops turning and I can smell the belt burning, then it will catch and start working normal. I looked under the plate to check the belts and they looked okay and no hang ups of string or anything. The only thing that seemed weird was that the smaller belt that actually attaches and turns the roller is a bit loose. The larger belt is tight but looks like its the one that is burning and causing the smell.

Better to replace both belts the smaller one is stretched out thats whyits slipping ,be sure to clean the old rubber off the motor shaft before replacing the belts.it will cause the new belts to run unevevly and go bad before their time ...
