Two things you should check:\015\012
\015\0121- Be sure the belt that drives the beater brush is snug.\015\012
\015\0122- Good idea to remove the beater brush and clean as best you can.\015\012At each end of the brush there are two hard rubber retainers that hold the brush in the\015\012housing.\015\012Add some WD40 between these retainers and the brush, rotate to be sure the WD40 \015\012is worked in so that the retainers move freely around the brush.\015\012Sparingly, add a bit of WD40 to any part (wheels) that contact the floor when the unit\015\012is in use.\015\012
\015\012If you find this solution to be of help, I would appreciate a Thumbs Up.\015\012Thank you.\015\012Paul

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

Trace the path of the suction into the tank and see if there is anything loose or ingested.\015\012Also, remove the brush and clean as best you can. Perhaps there is something caught in it. Lubricate where it makes sense with some WD40. ... Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My Dyson animal seems to have an electrical issue that I am unable to pinpoint. Neither the wand nor the floor vac have any suction AT ALL. In fact the vac makes absolutely no sound and you wouldn't even know that it had power to it unless the rollers are turned on, the rollers work just fine. I had this problem start about a month ago and then it just started working again after messing with it for a while, now it has happened again and I am getting a little agitated! Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!

The roller-brush on my Dyson DC17 makes a terrible noise at all times. I removed the cover and extracted all debris from this area, making sure all connections were as secure as possible, but that didn't improve it any. The vacuum still seems to vacuum okay, but the noise sounds horrendous. How do I fix it?

Check the belt to see if a layer or piece of it has come loose and is flappping around.\015\012Check for any loose parts that could be getting hit by the brush or other moving parts.\015\012Make sure the brush it tightly in place and can ... Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Loud noise I have a brand new Dyson and it is great on all my floors except one of my area rugs when it starts making this really loud vibrating noise. I am not sure why - nothing is stuck in the roller or vacuum and it doesn't make it on any of my other rugs. Also it is really hard to push whereas all the other floors it just glides. I don't want to return it but I also don't want to hear this sound every time I vacuum.

This is the clutch as it jams up in the brush. Usually happens with rugs that are not secured to the floor. ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Havent used for about two years. I had to put the belt on it. It doesnt seem to be sucking up very well and after about 15 minutes of vaccuuming the bag was empty. My house got really dusty. I know the rollers were spinning because i looked. I could hear some dirt going in but could definatly tell it wasnt working properly. Is it in reverse or something?

After two years you need to make sure the bag is connected properly and inspect it for tears and that the hoses are connected correctly and not deteriorated. Make sure the hose is clear. You should be able to feel the suction at the end of the hose. ... Vacuums

My dyson seems to have lost its suction therefore is not picking up anything yet i have found that when my dyson is standing upright it has a little more suction but nothing like how it use to work. This has only happend in the last 2 weeks. I sanded a floor & though the sander picked up majority of the dust i did use the dyson to pick up the excess and it is since then that my dyson has not been working to its full potential.

I just used my Bissell Proheat, when I heard the vacuum sound get lower and lower then suddenly something "gave" and it got very loud and started emitting a burnt rubber smell. It still worked to put liquid into the carpet; seemed to have trouble getting it out. I checked the tank, filters, belt, and roller and all seemed OK - but when I started up again and looked down I saw sparks in the motor/belt area and shut it down immediately. Any thoughts?

The bearing that is located at the top of the vacuum motor has failed . Because of that the shaft of the motor's rotor is out of position and the pulley attached to it has started rubbing on the other pulleys, giving you that smell. the spark appear ... Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so. I have tried the following things: -cleaned the two sponge filters -emptied the dirt receptacle -removed the roller and cleaned it -cleaned the brushes -the belt is not ragged and does not seem floppy -checked all of the airways for clogs (including removing the wheel base) Can you help?

Had my dyson root cyclone for about 4 years now, and in the last year it's had a few problems. About 4 months ago it started to make this awful grinding sound when the roller bar was engaged and I took it to a repair shop and they said it was the roller bar itself. The shop replaced the part and it worked fine for a couple of months and then it started to make the grinding noise again. I tried the clutch reset suggestion (turn it on its side and turn the carpet/bare floor switch slowly back and
