Poor Suction Heya! So I just picked up a used Dyson, but when I vacuum with it, the suction is pretty weak and it spits all kinds of stuff out the back and into my feet. When I pull the hose I have good suction, but in regular mode it hardly picks up anything. The brushes are spinning, and it eventually will clean an area if I go over it again and again. Maybe a clog somewhere? Please tell me that Dysons have better suction than my $50 Dirt Devil! Thanks!

I recently bought a second hand Dyson DC07. Its suction was poor. I removed all the un-clipable pipe bits and to remove any blockage but it all looked clear. The Final Sponge and hepper filter did have a lot of dust in it and the rotating brush was f ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My dyson DC17 will not turn on unless the handle is pulled back.(into the vacuuming position) The attachment hose will not work at all (0 suction thru it). I've checked the hose and made sure there is no obstruction. Any ideas?

Not sure if I can help, but I'll try. The DC17 has two motors: the vacuum motor and a separate motor for the brush bar. It is normal that the brush motor works only when the handle is pulled back in the vacuuming position - that's the way it's made. ... Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Have Dyson DC 14. When tilt to vacuum, the handle and coiled hose comes away from the unit. The problem started when the little purple ridged curved part on front of vacuum cleaner right below handle came loose and a spring fell out from somewhere--don't know where. I pushed on the purple ridge part and it snapped back on. Now, can't get it loose again, don't know where the spring goes, and handle still comes loose from vacuum.

I'm not positive whether or not this is the wand handle because there are several versions of the DC14. However the device the locks and unlocks the wand in place is pretty similar between all the versions. The first picture is the wand re ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I have a Kenmore 116.36932 (upright-bagless vacuum) that the motor protector by-pass valve has opened. I've clean out the area between the agitator brush where the flexible extension hose starts. There was some blockage there. I checked the rest of the system (extenstion hose, back filter area, pipe area to canister and area to side filter. I took the 2 filters out and the by-pass valve is still open. Where else could there be a blockage that I can take apart to clean and put back together

I removed the handle of my Dyson DC24 to vaccum in high areas and now when i try to put the back piece back, it doesn't click. So when try to vaccum on the floor the handle just comes off.

Hi there,I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC24. The wand handle should reattach easily to the machine, locking into place with an audible 'click'. If it doesn't seem to be doing this, you may want to check you have the han ... Dyson Ball DC24 Bagless Upright Vacuum

My handle won't go back up after an extended vacuuming session during which I used the hand/broom/animal hair attachments several times, thus pulling the hose out/putting it back in, starting/ stopping, and suddenly no matter what I do short of forcing it (and even if I try forcing it a bit) I can't raise the handle to put it away.

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

When vacuuming carpet with the electric power brush it will ocassionly , go to zero suction mode and shut off the brush. Dyson vacuum I have a DC07 vaccuum. The problem I am having is that the front does not want to stay down as I vaccuum and I continuously have to keep stepping on the front to make it go back down to the floor. It seems as though there is either not enough weight in the front or possibly the unit just has to be broken in so that there is not so much resistance between the handle and the front of the vaccuum. Could there be something I did not remove or is this typical on these vaccuums?

The brush wouldn't work when the selector switch was in carpet mode. Took the power head apart and removed the motor. Everything o.k. in the power head. Checked and found that the neutural wire had pulled out of the connector, the connector was never crimped at the factory. What a day! Took 2 hours and a large pizza to get it done. Neutral wire was in the hose just below the handle. Reconnected the wire and crimped it, put everything back together. It works!!!!

Currently my dyson does not work when in the upright position. When I pull the handle back, it will run, but the suction is not very good at all. I tried washing the filter, but that didn't work. Sometimes it works for awhile, but then the problem occurs after the machine has been used for awhile. What do you think the problem is?

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. It seems

Not sure what you mean when you refer to a "microchip" but maybe it is a sensor that works with the belt.\015\012Anyway, if you Google the make and model number of your vacuum you can probably get an exploded view or owners manual that might indicate ... Vacuums
