Dyson dc05 electrical fault

\015 Hi my dyson has suddenly stopped working. There is no strange smell and it didn't seem to be over heating so I think it is an electrical fault. How can I tell if it is the cable that needs replacing or the on/off switch?\015

Hi Helen,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC05. From what you've described, it sounds as if the machine may have overheated in use - this will occur if the filter needs a wash, or if the machine has a blockage. You should find the machine will run again after it's had at least two hours to cool down, but to prevent this from reoccuring, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc05/dc05-standard/my-machine-is-not-working/power-failure

If you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298. Calls are free from UK landlines, and the Helpline is available from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week.

Best wishes,
